Bonjour, hello!

Who am I?
I’m a Dutch–French life enthusiast who loves being active, learning new things, and sharing good energy with the people around me. I smile easily and enjoy being around others.

Where do I come from?
I was born and raised in France and grew up in the countryside, surrounded by animals, outdoor work, and a no-nonsense attitude. I later lived in Amsterdam for nearly 10 years (with about 2.5 years of travel in between).

Why did I leave a “stable” life?
Nearing my 30s, I realised a settled life isn’t for me. I’m drawn to movement, discovery, and learning through experience. I chose to step away from my office-based life in the non-profit sector, where I worked on access to healthcare in low- and middle-income countries — work I enjoyed, but which left me wanting a more practical, hands-on way of living.

How do I learn best?
Through real life. A recent 4-month solo journey through Indonesia (wedding ceremonies, staying with random families, walking buffalos) confirmed that hands-on experiences are where I thrive.

What am I looking for now?
I’ve set myself the goal of finally learning how to sail, or at least getting close enough to know if it’s truly for me. I’m a complete beginner, very motivated, curious, and not afraid to start at the bottom.

What kind of Workawayer am I?
I’m new to Workaway, but not to travel. I’ve travelled extensively since I was 18, often solo, and adapt easily to new environments and ways of living. I’m reliable, proactive, and a clear communicator. I speak Dutch and French fluently, combining Dutch directness with French discipline 🙂

How do I contribute?
I enjoy physical tasks, being outside, and helping with the daily running of a place — cleaning, gardening, cooking, helping with projects, or simply doing what needs to be done.

And outside of work?
Long conversations, shared stories, tea at all hours, and cuddling dogs. I value kindness, curiosity, and people who are not quite “normal” ;)

I’m a hands-on, curious, and reliable person who enjoys rolling up my sleeves and helping out.

Outdoor / physical work: I grew up in the French countryside chopping wood, helping with animals, gardening, and general upkeep so I’m comfortable with physical tasks and getting my hands dirty.

Household & communal tasks: Cooking, cleaning, washing, organizing.

DIY / practical skills: I enjoy learning new hands-on skills, and figuring out problems as they come.

Communication & teamwork: I’m a clear communicator, happy to work closely with people, and can adapt to new groups and routines.

Curiosity & learning: I pick up new skills quickly, whether it’s gardening, cooking, or… trying my hand at sailing.
