Hello, I am Sophie, 25 years old. I spent the last three years living in Cologne, finishing my master degree in chemistry and I decided that it is time to experience something away from academia for some time.

I am a very sociable person who enjoys living in communities of like-minded people.
I love going on hikes, spending time in the ocean, meeting people from all corners of the world and having deep conversations, anything food related (growing, preparing, eating ... though the last is probably the best).

During my time spend on the canary islands I would love to learn more about sustainable ways of living and authentic canarian culture. Also, I would like to improve my rusty Spanish.

More details about my language interests
As German is my mother tongue, I can teach you perfect "Hochdeutsch" and teach you some funny dialect words :) I am fluent in English, spent 7 months in an English speaking countries and finished a Master's programme in English. I am happy to share my experience with you :) I want to deepen my knowledge in Spanish and Japanese and I am happy to learn. I've learnt spanish for three years in high school, i can still understand quite a lot, but speaking has become tough for me. So, I would be happy to find somebody to talk to and refresh some grammar. I've learnt Japanese in university and passed the N5 exam. Most importantly i want to practice speaking a lot more! :)

In the past i volunteered in a hostel in australia doing housekeeping, cleaning and preparation of the breakfast. I helped in my mum's guest house cleaning and doing basic bar tasks and painted numerous walls for free accomodation. I also worked on farms in Australia and started my own little "balcony farm" with my flatmates in Germany.
I worked with children from the age of 9-18 in a lab project at university.
I can teach chemistry, if that's something you're interested in ;) Apart from that, i am fluent in german and english and i know basic spanish and japanese. I can operate a PC :D
I am happy to teach everybody about the sport of lacrosse who is interested! I would also be happy to host a regular beach lacrosse session.
