Hi!
I’m Sakura, originally from Japan, though I grew up moving around quite a bit — living in Singapore, the US, and Thailand along the way. This spring I’m graduating from university with a degree in Economics and Computer Science. Before starting work in Spring 2027, I’m planning to spend a year traveling, hoping to experience different cultures, landscapes, and ways of life before diving into corporate life.
I’m naturally curious and love learning new things, which is a big part of why I’m excited about doing a Workaway. I’m a pretty active person and enjoy being outdoors, but I also have a creative side. I especially enjoy working with three-dimensional art forms like sewing, crocheting, jewelry making, and sculpture. Creating things with my hands has always been really rewarding for me. I also love to cook! I love food and I believe sitting at a table with people sharing food is one of the most intimate things you could do to learn about eachother!
I also grew up helping my grandparents on their orange farm in Japan, which taught me the value of hands-on work and being part of a small community effort. I’m a quick learner and always happy to jump in and help wherever I can. I’m really looking forward to gaining meaningful experiences and meeting wonderful people along the way!

また、1日だけ彼の祖父母の農場のお手伝いをさせてもらったのも、とても良い経験でした。お二人は本当に優しくて、私自身はスペイン語がほとんど話せず、お二人も英語はほとんど話せないという状況だったので、今までで一番本物の文化交流を体験できた気がします。
さらに、彼のおばさんの牛の乳搾りのお手伝いをする機会もありました。おばさんも私のつたないスペイン語にとても辛抱強く付き合ってくれました。
全体的に、本当に素晴らしい1週間でした！彼のプロジェクトがこれからどんな風に発展していくのか楽しみにしています！
