  • Description

I am a restless and embarrassingly hopeful environmentalist. What gives life meaning to me is the intentional act of giving my own life meaning, feeling things, and experiencing them firsthand in new places with new people. I carry my journal everywhere and I'm horribly afraid I might forget how amazing and beautiful the world is, so I write about it and sketch it. I'm graduating college this year, and as my time of exciting summer jobs comes to an end (I worked at the wild animal park, a family camp in Santa Barbara, and a congressman's office in the last few summers) I am not ready to give up the joy that comes with them. The joy of being a local at a nearby body of water, caring about a new issue I'd never known about, and doing something new with my day. I have been vegan and vegetarian sporadically as well, so I have become a great cook and know some fun recipes with all types of produce! I hope you'll take a chance on me as a new workawayer and allow me to be a part of your journey, and you mine.

  • More details about your skills

I'm only 21 but I've done it all! I am a responsible worker who is also passionate about the environment and learning. Last summer, I worked in the craft team for a family camp, where I learned how to work with ceramics and use a kiln as well as make derby cars with a saw/sander, which are tasks I was ready and excited to learn. At this camp I was also a general staff member, developing relationships with campers each week, from toddlers to retirees. Aside from this, I have also been an active member in the sustainability organizations in San Diego, having held leadership positions that allow me to set goals and make decisions that will make my campus more sustainable. These positions have not only cultivated my hard skills but also my love for the earth, and my desire to keep trying new things in new places.
