  • Description

Hello! I have gone on 3 longer trips abroad in the past few years. In Mexico and Peru I worked on organic farms, and in Vietnam, Thailand, Turkey, and Morocco I helped teach English in a variety of educational settings with a diverse set of students. I had such a wonderful experience with all my travels. I'm hoping to travel to many more countries and learn about their culture, history, and food. I am currently a student in graduate school, earning my master's degree and license in teaching English as a Second Language (ESL). I have worked extensively with preschool, second-grade, third-grade, and middle school students. My Spanish level is intermediate but I am always trying to learn more and improve, as well as learn new languages.

I am very easy-going, friendly, calm, and on the quieter side. Outside of work I love to cook, try new restaurants, play volleyball and tennis, as well as the guitar, piano, and drums.

I hope to teach English to immigrants and refugees in the U.S., and so am very passionate about teaching English. I have been slowly learning Spanish for the past 10 years, and would love to learn a bit of any and all languages.

I have a lot of experience working with diverse groups of people, both forming close relationships and teaching. I have worked with and helped teach older adults with memory loss (e.g. Alzheimer's/dementia), adults experiencing homelessness, adult refugees new to the U.S. learning English (teaching assistant), adults in correctional facilities (math tutoring), preschoolers (early literacy lessons), middle schoolers (science, mental health counseling), and third-graders (main classroom teacher–reading, math, science, and social studies). I am very flexible, patient, calm, understanding, and caring.
