Hello! I have gone on 2 longer trips abroad in the past few years. The first one was to Mexico and Peru, and the latest one was in Vietnam and Thailand. In Mexico and Peru I worked on a few different organic farms, and in Vietnam and Thailand I taught English in a variety of settings (English centers, tutoring with a family, public school, etc.). I had such a wonderful experience with all my travels. I'm hoping to travel to many more countries and learn about their culture, history, and food. I would like to incorporate my love of travel and learning about different cultures in my career, either as an ESL (English as a Second Language) teacher or as a food educator. I have worked extensively with preschool, third-grade, and middle school students.

I very easy-going, friendly, calm, and on the quieter side. Outside of work I love to cook, try new restaurants, play volleyball, and play the guitar, piano, and drums.

I hope to teach English to immigrants and refugees in the U.S., and so am very passionate about teaching English. I have been slowly learning Spanish for the past 10 years, and would love to learn a bit of any and all languages.

I have a lot of experience working with diverse groups of people, both forming close relationships and teaching. I have worked with and helped teach older adults with memory loss (e.g. Alzheimer's/dementia), adults experiencing homelessness, adult refugees new to the U.S. learning English (teaching assistant), adults in correctional facilities (math tutoring), preschoolers (early literacy lessons), middle schoolers (science, mental health counseling), and third-graders (main classroom teacher–reading, math, science, and social studies). I am very flexible, patient, calm, understanding, and caring.
