Description
Hello! I am currently a student/teacher earning my master's degree in education and my ESL (English as a Second Language) teaching license. I have gone on 3 longer trips abroad in the past few years. In Mexico and Peru I worked on organic farms, and in Vietnam, Thailand, Turkey, and Morocco I helped teach English in a variety of educational settings with a diverse set of students. I had such a wonderful experience with all my travels, and am so grateful to all of my previous hosts for welcoming me into their homes, schools, and communities. I'm hoping to travel to many more countries to support students and learn about culture, history, and food. I have worked extensively with preschool, second-grade, third-grade, and middle school students. My Spanish level is intermediate but I am always trying to learn more and improve, as well as learn new languages.
I am very easy-going, friendly, calm, and on the quieter side. Outside of work I love to cook, try new restaurants, play volleyball and tennis, watch movies, and play the guitar, piano, and drums.

More details about your skills
I have a lot of experience working with diverse groups of people, both forming close relationships and teaching. I have worked with and helped teach older adults with memory loss (e.g. Alzheimer's/dementia), adults experiencing homelessness, adult refugees new to the U.S. learning English (teaching assistant), adults in correctional facilities (math tutoring), preschoolers (early literacy lessons), middle schoolers (science, mental health counseling), and third-graders (main classroom teacher–reading, math, science, and social studies). I am very flexible, patient, calm, understanding, and caring.
