Activities i am interested in:
I am currently living in Bristol and studying modern languages at university and so I am seeking more practical experience which will allow me to become more conversationally proficient!

Description
With a love for languages and wish to experience as much of the world as possible, integrating with new cultures from people I otherwise would never have met is my greatest motive for working travel. Strengthening relationships through language exchange and broadening my perspectives have both proven to be the most exciting parts of travel for me so far and I would be so grateful to learn from and connect with more people all over the world through practical tasks and rewarding hard work!

Languages
Languages spoken
English: Fluent
French: Intermediate
German: BeginnerMore details about my language interests
I am looking to refine my French-speaking ability to fluency and have also dipped my toes in other European languages - however as a linguist I would be thrilled to be introduced to any and all languages spoken where I travel, not only to avoid miscommunication, but as I believe each offers improved connections with locals as well as a glimpse into life overseas. To me, languages are an essential route to engaging with culture and I have always felt more uplifted during a trip if I have been able to communicate in the mother tongue of locals, having better understood the customs and quirks of a destination - whether through insightful little expressions or actual stories and conversations in the local language. I also have a TEFL certificate and so would be more than happy to teach English as well if this is needed. My main goal is to connect with a host's culture and lifestyle and I feel that language and the lifestyle immersion which accompanies it is often the best way to do so.

More details about your skills
With a year of experience working in hospitality and 3 years working in retail, meeting and dealing with unfamiliar members of the public is a developed skill of mine and I am not shy of hard-work. Enhancing my ability to communicate effectively, I have studied French up to A-Level standard and am currently pursuing it at university alongside learning German. Although these are my primary languages, I am an incredibly curious person and my love for language-learning is not exclusive to these tongues and I am more than happy to take on new ones to better connect with hosts and locals!

What else ...
As a creative person, in my spare time I play guitar and am very drawn to music. I also skateboard and practise yoga as well as being spiritual and so engage with ritual regularly - my ideas and beliefs around spirituality are unprejudiced towards others and very flexible, I believe that there is not one true way to deity but many and would be fascinated to learn of more! I also find it important to keep up with current affairs and read articles on pressing issues to remain politically engaged. My hobbies are not exclusive to these activities and I am always excited to pick up more!
