Hello, I'm Mike, originally from the UK and currently living in Spain.

I run my own business and have spent many years teaching and working with people from different backgrounds. One of the things I enjoy most is connecting with others, sharing experiences, and learning new skills along the way.

I'm an active person who enjoys running, fitness, the outdoors, and keeping busy. I find a lot of satisfaction in practical work, whether that's helping with maintenance projects, gardening, painting, organizing, customer service, teaching, or simply lending a hand wherever it's needed.

What motivates me most is personal growth, meaningful experiences, and meeting interesting people. I enjoy stepping outside my comfort zone, learning about different cultures, and seeing how people live in other parts of the world. I believe some of the best experiences come from working together, sharing stories, and contributing positively to a community.

I would describe myself as reliable, hardworking, adaptable, and easy to get along with. I'm happy working independently when needed, but I also enjoy being part of a team.

For me, Workaway is about much more than accommodation or travel. It's an opportunity to exchange knowledge, help others, build genuine connections, and experience life from a different perspective.

Absolutely. Language is one of the best ways to connect with people and understand a culture more deeply. I am a native English speaker and have many years of teaching experience, so I am happy to help others practise and improve their English in both formal and informal settings. Whether it's conversation practice, pronunciation, confidence building, or everyday communication, I enjoy helping people learn. I also enjoy learning languages myself. Living in Spain has given me the opportunity to improve my Spanish, and I always enjoy learning new words, expressions, and cultural insights from the people I meet. For me, language exchange is about much more than grammar and vocabulary. It's about sharing experiences, understanding different perspectives, and building meaningful connections with people from around the world.

I bring a wide range of practical, professional, and people-focused skills developed through running my own business, teaching, and working with people from many different backgrounds.

For over a decade, I have owned and managed my own business, which has given me experience in organisation, administration, customer service, problem-solving, project management, marketing, and working independently. I'm comfortable taking responsibility, learning quickly, and finding solutions when challenges arise.

I also have extensive teaching experience and enjoy helping others learn and develop. I am patient, approachable, and confident communicating with both adults and children.

On the practical side, I'm hands-on and happy to help with general maintenance, painting, cleaning, gardening, basic repairs, organising spaces, and a variety of day-to-day tasks. I enjoy learning new skills and am not afraid of hard work.

I'm physically active, fit, and energetic. I run regularly, train in the gym, and enjoy outdoor work. I'm comfortable with physically demanding tasks when required.

My strongest qualities are reliability, adaptability, a positive attitude, and a strong work ethic. If I commit to something, I take it seriously and always try to leave things better than I found them.

I'm equally happy working independently or as part of a team, and I enjoy meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds. I believe good communication, respect, and a willingness to help are the foundations of any successful Workaway experience.

Outside of work, I enjoy staying active and making the most of my time. Running is a big part of my life, and I regularly take part in races and fitness activities. I also enjoy hiking, exploring new places, and spending time outdoors.

I have a curious nature and enjoy learning new skills, meeting people from different cultures, and hearing their stories and perspectives. Travel, personal development, and meaningful conversations are all things that I value.

As a teacher and business owner, I naturally enjoy working with people, but I also appreciate quiet moments with a good coffee, a walk, or a book. I enjoy solving problems, taking on new challenges, and finding practical ways to help others.

Friends would probably describe me as reliable, easy-going, positive, and someone who gets involved rather than sitting on the sidelines. Whether it's helping with a project, sharing a meal, exploring a new area, or simply having a good conversation, I'm happiest when I'm actively engaged with the people and environment around me.

I'm always open to new experiences and believe that some of life's best memories come from saying yes to opportunities that weren't part of the original plan.
