Hi! I am Poppy and I am from a tiny island in the Hebrides of Scotland.

I love nature and animals and currently spend most of my time outdoors. I am hard working and versatile when it comes to skills and interests and I love learning new things. I enjoy hiking, crafting, reading, cooking, water sports and most things that involve being outdoors and being active.

I am trained in curation and museum work and love exploring and learning about local culture anywhere that I visit. I currently run a local community centre and hostel on the island where I live which I love but am looking for a change. I would love to experience some new places, connect with new people and hopefully learn some more about myself as well as the places I visit.

I am a very open minded and friendly person and I care deeply about the world around me and the things that I do. I would love to be able to make even a small difference with the work I do a workaway project. I hope to hear from you soon!

I am a fast learner who picks up new skills quickly and learns best through doing. I am confident that I could handle any challenges thrown my way.

I have worked many many different jobs in different areas and have developed a number of skills through these. Most of my working life I have worked in heritage, culture and community work but I also have experience as a gardener, chef, teacher, administrator and much more.

What else ...

I love board games! The more complicated the better. My favourite is a game called 'Everdell' but I really enjoy learning new games to add to my collection.

I love ceilidh dancing (traditional Scottish dancing) and would be happy to teach anyone if they are interested!

I am also interested in foraging, fishing, yoga and self sufficiency. I have experience in all of these areas but would love to learn more, especially in a new place.
