    Description

After 30 years in Berlin and a couple of years of traversing Latin America in a van, I felt it was time for a deeper change of lifestyle. The vision for this place was born during a yoga teacher training in Guatemala in 2019. In March 2021 I moved into an old farmhouse in the heart of Brittany – a region completely new to me at the time. Surrounded by a small bunch of chicken, two cats and a magical garden I began building this project step by step, trying to pursue a more sustainable lifestyle and to create a place that could leave a positive impact on everyone who is staying or passing by.

What started as a very personal journey has grown into a larger project. Recently my partner Sonny joined me, and since then we have been shaping and expanding this place together. With many small hands-on projects, we are slowly improving the old buildings, growing the guesthouse and shaping the land with a focus on sustainability, quality and beauty. Guided by the principles of permaculture, we aim to grow as much of our own food as possible. We cultivate vegetables, herbs and fruit with a strong focus on soil health, biodiversity and natural cycles. This way of working shapes our daily life here.

We run a small but well-cared-for BnB and love creating a space where people can feel comfortable, inspired and welcome. Workawayers become part of our daily life here: renovation projects, gardening, maintenance, creative building tasks and the general rhythm of rural life in Brittany.

We enjoy good food, shared meals, meaningful conversations, quiet moments as well as active work days – and we’re happy to welcome people who like to contribute with their hands, ideas and energy to an evolving place.

    TRAVEL INFORMATION:
The closest big cities are Rennes, Lorient, Saint Brieuc and Guingamp.
Oftentimes workawayers take public transport to either of these and continue the trip with a carpool – a BlablaCar – to go to either Gouarec, Pontivy or Rostrenen. From these places we can pick you up.
UPDATE: There is the new bus line 229 between Rennes and Brest that runs 5 times a day and stops at Leclerc Rostrenen, which is very close to us. We will happily pick you up from there.
