Hello everyone! 😊

My name is Patricija, originally from Croatia. I have spent the past 10 years living, working, and traveling across Europe, Asia, Americas and the Middle East. I am currently based in Berlin, working as a Project Manager in the events industry, while gradually transitioning into the humanitarian field, which is my long-term focus.

I am passionate about cultural exchange, languages, travel, and meeting people from different backgrounds. I am open minded, genuine and curious person who values connection and learning through experience.

Volunteering has been a key part of my journey. I spent a year in South America, followed by several months in Southeast Asia and the Middle East, and later became involved with a children’s organization in Colombia. These experiences deeply influenced my direction in life, especially my interest in supporting refugees and children.

Outside of work and volunteering, I love good cup of coffee, sea and everything related to the sea, which is one of the reasons I am drawn to Greece. I love freediving and running, and this year I will be running the Berlin Marathon for charity, which is very meaningful to me.

I am especially looking forward to this opportunity in Greece — not only to contribute to a project I care about, but also to meet like-minded people and be part of something impactful!

I don’t know where to start and I hope to find appropriate words to describe this experience! Staying at this place with Don Leo and doña Yami was the most incredible and the most special experience in my life! The plan was to stay two weeks to translate the tours, however the spread of coronavirus became a thing and I stayed trapped… read more here for more than 3 months! I learned so much not just about the coffee, but about everything possible like organic food, culture and costumes related to coffee zone etc. I was so lucky to get “stuck” at this place and so grateful I stayed with such a good people. Let’s start with the soul of this finca: doña Yami! She is the humblest and most generous person I’ve ever met! She was like my mother here and I appreciate her and love her so much, not to mention how much she helped me with the organization regarding my repatriation flight! Just amazing! Don Leo on the other side is most hardworking person you’ll ever see, his life is just incredible and while you’re listening to it you think you’re in some kind of movie! Also I was enjoying listening all his stories and I learned so much, his knowledge of a real campesino is amazing! I will miss so much morning coffee and gossiping with doña Yami and doña Magdalena,the best cook ever (her sancocho is from another world!), going to village with don Freddie on Sundays to drink tinto or chatting with don Carlos about fruit benefits 🥰 They all are like family to me and I will never forget how much they helped me and made me feel like a part of the family. Apart from that this is the most authentic place you can stay at, with organic food and the best premium quality coffee you will ever drink in your life! I have no idea how I will be able to drink European coffee again 😢 Today is my last day and while writing this I feel so fulfilled for the so beautiful memories we made, but also so sad I feel my heart is going to break in pieces!

¡No sé por dónde empezar y espero encontrar las palabras adecuadas para describir esta experiencia! ¡Quedando en Colombia con Don Leo y doña Yami fue la experiencia más increíble y especial de mi vida! El plan era quedar dos semanas para traducir los tours, pero propagación del coronavirus se convirtió en una cosa muy seria y ¡me quedé atrapada aquí por más de 3 meses! Aprendí mucho no solo sobre el café, sino sobre todo lo posible, como la comida orgánica, la cultura y los disfraces relacionados con la zona cafetera etc. Tuve la suerte de quedarme "atrapada" en este lugar y estoy tan agradecida de haberme quedado con tan la gente tan buena. Comencemos con el alma de esta finca: ¡doña Yami! ¡Es la persona más humilde y generosa que he conocido! Ella era como mi madre aquí y la aprecio y la amo tanto, ¡sin mencionar cuánto me ayudó con la organización respecto a mi vuelo de repatriación! ¡Simplemente increíble! Don Leo, por otro lado, es la persona más trabajadora que jamás haya visto, su historia de su vida personal es increíble y, mientras la escuchas, ¡crees que estás en algún tipo de película! También estaba disfrutando escuchar todas sus historias y aprendí mucho, ¡su conocimiento de un verdadero campesino es increíble! Extrañaré tanto a beber café matutino y chismosear con doña Yami y doña Magdalena, la mejor cocinera (¡su sancocho es de otro mundo!), ir en el pueblo con don Freddie los domingos para beber tintico o conversar con don Carlos sobre los beneficios de la fruta 🥰
Todos son como una familia para mí y nunca olvidaré lo mucho que me ayudaron y me hicieron sentir parte de la familia. Aparte de eso, este es el lugar más auténtico en el que uno si puede quedar, con la comida orgánica y el mejor café de primera calidad que jamás haya bebido en mi vida. No tengo idea de cómo podré volver a tomar café europeo 😢 Hoy es mi último día y mientras escribo esto me siento tan satisfecha por los recuerdos tan hermosos que hicimos, pero también tan triste que siento que mi corazón se va a romper en pedazos! ¡Tengo mucho amor por este lugar y por la gente!
