Description
Hi, we're Anya and Mireille! We are sisters who are embarking on an adventure to explore Europe for several months. We are originally from Colorado, USA and have been living in Montana for the past few years. We have put all of our belongings in a storage unit and plan to travel indefinitely!
A little bit about Mireille: I am a Reading Therapist for children of all ages with different learning disabilities. I have been in the education field for four years. I have also recently been working for a local travel agency as a Reservations Agent, and have been learning the ins and outs of tourism and hospitality.
I have a strong pull to the outdoors, and enjoy doing many activities out in nature. I love river rafting (I was a whitewater raft guide for several years), backpacking, and mountain biking. I have a knack for writing and a deep love for reading and writing poetry. I have a Bachelors degree in Recreation Therapy as well as Psychology and Social Entrepreneurship. I find it most fulfilling when I am able to work with people of varying abilities, backgrounds, and experiences. I am also an artist and own my own small jewelry and fiber arts business. My favorite way to travel is by slowing down and taking time to get to know a place through its inhabitants and cultures. I strongly believe in the power of creative expression and community building in healing and finding true fulfillment. There is something really special about venturing to new places and creating/joining a new community there.
A little bit about Anya: I recently quit my job at our local food bank to study to be a Doula and move into childcare. I studied Sustainable and Regenerative Agriculture and Local Food Systems at university and I am obsessed with all things food and drink. Before leaving Montana, I was working at a local distillery where we distilled gin, agave, vodka, limoncello, coffee liqueur, and whiskey.
I love being outside and feel the most myself when hiking, backpacking, camping, river rafting, or biking. I also absolutely love food; making it, eating it, learning it, growing it. I am very passionate about good, whole food and access to that food by local communities. I am very interested in the Slow Food Movement and preserving traditional food techniques. I have worked for many farms, vineyards, food box programs, and restaurants all over the world, including working on fishing boats in Alaska. One of my favorite parts of traveling is learning about the local food cultures and learning to make regional dishes.
We are both really interested in herbalism, plant identification and cultivation, permaculture and regenerative farming practices, homeopathic/holistic remedies and healthcare, as well as carpentry, new methods of cooking, environmental conservation, and art projects. We are looking for new experiences in intriguing places with inspiring people to help spark our creative energy and broaden our outlook on life!

We love all things art and nature... Mireille makes earrings out of clay and loves to embroider, water color paint, and sew. We would love to share the creative skills we have and learn all that others have to offer! We are so stoked to experience new places, cultures, and ways of living and continue to grow the list of places we have experienced!
