  • Description

The most important things in life for me are learning new things, connecting with nature, living a simple and peaceful life all while being accompanied by my best friend (four legged) Tobine. I've had him since he was a young dog in a rescue shelter 13 years ago. He's a happy little man who wants nothing more than to be in my company going on adventures. I'm at a stage in my life where I want to explore the world but never want to be without him and this seemed like the perfect place to find people who would like to make friends with my charming little lad.
A little history about me, I grew up in the suburbs of Dublin, Ireland but always felt drawn to the countryside from a young age. Surrounded by a family of dogs, I spend my childhood building, planting, fixing and decorating things. If I got an idea, I figured out a way to do it. I love problem solving and new experiences where I can grow and learn about myself as well as different trades and areas of knowledge.
I grew up fostering rescue dogs and this really gave me an understanding of how other animals communicate. Fast forward to my first job, I worked with cattle and horses. I really throw myself in the deep end with every new opportunity as I feel every chapter in life has something to teach us.
My new obsession is planting trees. Over the last five years or so, I've been watching my trees grow and really connecting with them and have found a new appreciation for their strength and resilience (call me crazy, but trees are truly spiritual beings).
My hope is to find like minded people who don't mind opening their space for me and my terrier to enjoy and learn from. I work very hard and To one has been known to contribute to working as well

My passion has always been understanding and helping rescue dogs. I've retrained and rehabilitated countless dogs. I've worked in kennels with everything from greyhounds to XL bullies and have a lot of experience in handling dangerous dogs. The training is really where my heart lies, listening to each individual dog and giving them exactly what they need to improve and find confidence to enjoy life.
I worked with racehorses where I was cleaning stables, feeding, mucking out and riding thoroughbreds. I definitely learned a lot from the horses. Patience and keeping a level head is everything.
I've worked on a dairy farm mainly raising calves and cleaning out sheds, but there was a good mix of jobs like fixing taps and hoses and troughs and putting up fences along with all the other day to day things.
I did some house sitting where I've gained knowledge and experience with geese, ducks, pigs, guinea pigs, rabbits and even lizards. I also had pet chickens who I loved very much. Really spending time with the animals can teach us so much, especially the chickens, they're very like dogs in how they connect with people and navigate their world.
Aside from jobs, I've spent a lot of time outdoors at home. I've built chicken coops, raised beds, repaired and rebuilt our fence, made rockeries and garden furniture, a vegetable garden too, tunnels for tomato plants. I like to think of myself as a handyman and like to learn skills to be able to live independently. I definitely don't know everything but have a positive approach to learning. So far, there's no challenge I have turned down!
