Description
Hi, I'm Maya! I am on a sabbatical to follow a long-awaited dream... to travel, follow my own interests, learn, live, and simply Be. I have spent the last 5 years of my life working on my career, but now I want to build a different kind of relationship with myself and see what I'm really made of 😁 I have had a passion for travel and adventure from a young age; I was lucky enough to spend parts of my childhood in India, and I love how new experiences and cultures encourage deep reflection and can change your perspective. I have interests in nature and conservation, hiking, agriculture/ permaculture (I believe growing/ self sufficiency is a revolutionary act 💚), art, music, spirituality, yoga, animals, and more... but I am willing to try my hand at anything! I would describe myself as dedicated, hard-working, a quick learner and a people person. I am open minded and have a thirst for knowledge so if you like to teach, amazing, but I'm also very happy being left to my own devices. The age we live in is starting to look a tad apocalyptic so at the moment I'm very interested in off grid and self sufficient lifestyles, where I may pick up some skills to help me and mine in the future. All is Love 🧡

More details about your skills
I have been working and volunteering since I was 13, ranging from odd-jobs to skilled work, so I would describe my skills as broad and varied, albeit random! I absolutely love diving head-first and getting stuck into a project or task, especially if I get to learn something new! Not afraid to get my hands dirty either, and I'm not squeamish. I am a quick learner and can adapt to new things fairly easily, so if I have some simple instructions, I'm happy!
I work well on my own and with others - I can happily lead or follow, work as a group, or stick some headphones on and get to it. I have good organisational skills and time keeping, I would say that one of my strengths is my ability to "zoom out" and see bigger picture perspectives, but I also love the attention to detail I can bring to a project. I love to contribute where I can in the interest of community and am keen to develop more skills in farming, growing, and sustainable living in the hopes of one day being a part of one.
I really enjoy creating (cooking, art, music, DIY) and looking after animals; I'm comfortable with daily tasks like housekeeping/ cleaning, manual labour, reading/ learning/teaching, I can drive and I have a C1 License for bigger vehicles. I have experience in veterinary environments and animal care, hospitality and people-facing roles, DIY and manual labour, farming.
