Hey there!
My name is Martina, I’m a Classical Philologist of 29 y.o. from Barcelona.

Since my early 20’s, I’ve been combining my career in Spain as an Ancient Greek and Latin teacher, with several experiences abroad, some of them through workaways, traveling while volunteering and working.
I’m also an animal lover, very passionate with dogs, what brought me to study recently Vet Assistant, for my own knowledge.

After my last adventure a while ago in Australia with a working VISA, I've spend these last two years back in Barcelona, teaching what I love. Now I feel it’s time for a break, keep learning and growing out of my confort zone, and I’m very excited for a new one.

I'm used to work with people, I learn fast, I have good adaptability and social skills, and I always have an open mind to what is to come.

I enjoy doing sport and activities in open air, taking long walks, being on the nature and specially close to the sea. I workawayed a couple of times in the countryside, picking up oranges and pruning vineyards in Italy.
As I mentioned, I love animals; I grew up with dogs since I remember. When I'm settled, I often volunteer in shelters (in Barcelona and Australia), I also did a couple of workaways in animal rescue (with dogs in Greece and monkeys in Bolivia), and I did my 3 months vet.assist. intership in a Vet Clinic in my city. Art, archeology, museums, cinema, share time with my friends, sports..are some of my strong interests.

During the periods I've worked in other fields different from my speciality (while I was at uni or living abroad), are included jobs such: front office in a museum, sales promoter in a museum's shop, secretary in a law-firm, waitress, baby/dog sitting...

I value time and space for myself, at the same time as I feel very stimulated by sharing time with people from everywhere, integrate into new cultures, learn their language, meet their people, and develop a sense of belonging.

I have many inquisitiveness and curiosity.

I'm good dealing with people, specially with teenagers, with who I easily stablish good communication.

I am persevering and resilient, what helps me to adapt to new situations and accomplish my goals as best I can.

I also have good physical endurance, and that has always allowed me to enjoy sports and doing some physical jobs, even though were not my field.

What else ...

I enjoy a lot dancing, specially bellydance, what I practiced for many years, and other dances from eastern contries (greek, albanian, dabke...).
Also I have my Open Water license, and I would love to improve it to the next level, whenever I have the chance.
I'm an ambitious person (in the healthy sense of the word). So I like to prove myself trying new things, trying to do my best for others, while learning and enjoying myself too.
