Hello there,

my name is Marit and I'm an animal and nature lover from Germany living in Portugal.
After finishing my studies in Sociology, I worked at an IT Company, focusing on illegal animal trade in the internet for three years. Then I felt the urge to work with animals in a more practical way and started my wonderful Workaway journey.

I love to find places where I can care for animals, be in the nature, experience different ways of living and get to know different perspectives, new people and animals. :)

- Caring for animals (I used to volunteer at different animal shelters and farms where I mainly took care of dogs, horses and pigs - but I love all kinds of animals)

The rescue centre is such a special place for both, animals and human beings. I’m very thankful that I had the opportunity to meet so many sweet dogs and cats but also really kind people. I had a great and memorable time at the farm. It was super interesting to gain more knowledge about the flora and fauna in Panama and it felt very lucky to meet so many different kinds of animals.
