Profile information

Description
Hi! I’m Marc, an enthusiastic environmental scientist from Barcelona with a strong passion for both nature and the marine world. I’ve just finished my MSc in Terrestrial Ecology and Biodiversity Management, and what truly motivates me is discovering wildlife, exploring mountains, and learning about the ocean and its life. I love spending time outdoors—whether it’s hiking in natural parks, doing fieldwork in the Pyrenees, or observing animals in their natural environment.
I’ve had the opportunity to gain experience with wildlife monitoring, camera trapping, and also to try scuba diving in Tenerife, which opened up a whole new world for me under the sea. I’m happiest when I can combine my curiosity for different ecosystems with teamwork and helping others, whether supporting research, sharing knowledge, or just lending a hand where needed.
I’m open-minded, easy-going, and always eager to learn from new cultures and people. I would be thrilled to contribute, learn, and share positive experiences through Workaway—especially in projects related to conservation, nature, or anything connected to the outdoors and the sea!

More details about your skills
I have a solid background in environmental science, fieldwork, and teamwork. My experience includes wildlife monitoring, camera trapping, and ecological research in mountain areas, where I learned to collect and analyse data, identify animal species, and work efficiently outdoors. I’m comfortable with practical tasks, from helping in the field to maintenance, gardening, or working with animals.
I also have skills in communication, having worked as a private tutor and sports coach, which helped me develop patience, adaptability, and a positive attitude. I enjoy sharing knowledge, supporting others, and collaborating with people from different backgrounds. I have a driving license, basic first aid training, and experience with scuba diving.
I am always eager to learn new things and happy to contribute wherever I can—whether in conservation projects, outdoor activities, or daily tasks!

Besides my passion for nature, mountains and the sea, I enjoy playing board games and card games, especially with friends or new people—I’m always up for learning something new! I like sports a lot, particularly football and hiking, and I’ve coached a futsal team for young people. I also love cooking Mediterranean dishes and trying new foods from other cultures.
I’m a big fan of music, I enjoy photography, and I’m always ready for a good walk, a swim, or a sunset outdoors. I consider myself friendly, respectful, and open-minded, and I like to bring a positive attitude wherever I go.
