Hi! I'm Madeleine, but everyone calls me Maddie! I'm a 21-year-old university student from the US studying Psychology and Environmental Studies. I'm currently spending a semester abroad in New Zealand and have loved getting to explore a new part of the world and meet people from different backgrounds.

I'm happiest outside and love hiking, backpacking, gardening, and pretty much anything adventurous. I've also recently been getting into rock climbing! Through Workaway, I'd love to meet new people, learn new skills, and experience places in a way I wouldn't get to just traveling through. I'm especially excited to learn more about different cultures and what everyday life is like in the places I visit!

I love hands-on work and am always happy to get my hands dirty! I've worked on a small organic farm, volunteered at a community garden, and spent several years helping at a barn, so I have experience with gardening, planting, harvesting, animal care, and general outdoor work.

I've also worked at summer camps for several years and helped plan and lead outdoor trips through my university. I'm comfortable working with kids, helping around the house, and pitching in wherever I'm needed. I'm a quick learner and would love to pick up new skills along the way!

I love cooking and trying new foods, especially when I get to cook with other people! I'm also into photography, crocheting, music, and pretty much any card or board game. I love being outdoors and am always up for a hike, swim, climb, or spontaneous adventure. I'm really excited to meet people, share meals and stories, and hopefully learn about some completely different ways of life!
