Hello!

My name is Lucy, I'm 26 years old and I'm currently living in Saint Ouen sur Seine, just outside of Paris. I'll leave when my job finishes in June. I’m using Workaway as a means to stay in France during the summer, to meet new people, and hopefully practice speaking French!

I work as a teaching assistant in a lycée, where I assist in the classroom and lead speaking based english classes for small groups of students. I have a range of past work experience, I have worked in admin, childcare, tutoring, events and hospitality (as waitress, chef, and baker).

During these jobs I have shown that I am reliable, hardworking and enthusiastic. I pick up new skills quickly and am always eager to learn. I’m interested in physical work, outdoor work, DIY, and creative tasks. I have confidence in my existing skills to work on tasks independently, but also enjoy being part of a team.

I would describe myself as friendly, a conscientious worker, a curious and openminded person who likes trying new things. Getting to know new people is an important part of travelling for me, so I'm looking for workaways with a social atmosphere!

I’m trying to improve my French at the moment so would love to find a workaway where I can practice speaking French (I'm very happy to help anyone practice English in return!)

Aside from language learning, I am interested in gardening, spending time in nature (especially camping, hiking and wild swimming!), art, books, music, vintage shopping, cooking/gastronomy and spending time with family/friends.

Salut!

Moi c’est Lucy, j'ai 26 ans et je viens de l'Angleterre. Actuellement je vis à Saint Ouen, juste au nord de Paris mais je vais partir quand je finirai mon travaille ici, à la fin de juin. J’utilise Workaway dans le but de rester en France pendant l’été et de rencontrer de nouvelles personnes avec qui je peux pratiquer le français.

En ce moment je travaille comme assistante de langue anglais dans un lycée. Dans mon travail, j’aide les professeurs ou je fais des activités avec les élèves en demi-groupes. Avant cela, jai eu plusieurs emplois, administrative, serveuse, travaille dans la cuisine de restaurant, aide avec et enseigner aux enfants.

J’ai montré que je suis quelqu’un de fiable, travailleuse et enthousiaste. J’apprends de nouvelles compétences rapidement. Je m’interesse au travail physique, le travail à l’extérieur, le bricolage et les tâches créatives. J’ai confiance en mes compétences actuelles pour travailler de manière autonome, mais j’aime aussi faire partie d’une équipe.

Je suis quelqu’un de chaleureuse, curieuse, enthousiaste, j'aime bien rencontrer des nouvelles personnes et apprendre de nouvelles choses. Je préfère un workaway avec une ambiance sociale, où il y a aussi d’autres workawayers.

J'apprends le français, et j’aimerais trouver un workaway ou je pourrais essayer parler en français. Je parle anglais couramment et je serais très heureuse de vous aider à pratiquer l’anglais ensemble!

En plus des langues, je m'intéresse au jardinage, à la randonnée, au camping, à la natation, à la culture , à la gastronomie et à la musique.

I speak English fluently and I am very happy to teach it and practice speaking with you! I am intermediate in French (~B1) , and hoping to improve.
