Hi everyone!

My name is Leonie, I’m from Austria and I’m 18 years old. I’m currently traveling around the world, and since I’m still figuring out what I want to do next in life, this feels like the perfect time to explore new places, meet different people, and hopefully get to know myself a bit better along the way!

I’m a lively and spontaneous person with a big love for creativity and discovering new things. I enjoy drawing, traveling, learning new languages and getting to know other cultures. People often describe me as empathetic, open-minded, and energetic. I really value kindness, honesty, good vibes and a positive mindset, and I try to bring those qualities into everything I do.

The ocean and the mountains are my happy places, and I feel most at peace when I’m surrounded by nature and animals. Growing up in Austria, I was lucky to spend a lot of time in the mountains and by some beautiful lakes , but now I’m excited to see more of the world!

I’ve already volunteered in a few different places, including two hostels in Argentina where I stayed for about two months. I helped with cleaning, receptionist shifts and hosting guest activities. So I’m happy to support you with everyday tasks like cleaning, doing laundry, preparing meals, working at reception, planning or joining activities, and looking after kids or pets. I’m also always open to learning new things and trying out new different tasks!

More details about my language interests
I've always been very interested in languages and communication in general, as I believe language is what connects people. I absolutely love speaking English and even graduated with written and oral exams in the subject! :) I'm also a big fan of Spanish, which I consider one of the most beautiful languages in the world. I’m currently on a journey of improving my Spanish, and I would love to become truly fluent in it. And of course, I also speak fluent German, as I grew up in Austria. I genuinely enjoy talking and communicating, and I’m always open to learning new languages. Among others, I’d love to be able to speak French, Italian, and Portuguese. And of course I´d also be more than happy to help you improve your English and/ or German if you want!

I speak three languages, two of them fluently: German (my native language; fluent), English (which I started learning nearly 10 years ago; fluent), and Spanish (which I studied in school for about six years; intermediate).
With that being said, I´m able to teach German and English and help you improve your vocabulary and grammar if needed!

I'm also a very musical person and really enjoy listening to pretty much every genre of music!
I started playing the saxophone at around age 9 and even played in a youth orchestra. I stopped around the age of 13 and began learning piano at 14, which I continued until I was 17. I also love singing and dancing (even though I´m not the best at it haha!).
Learning these Instruments gave me a good ear for music, a natural sense of rhythm, and musical sensitivity, which I would be more than happy to share!

A bit random- but some would say I’m pretty good at cutting hair, as I’ve styled and cut my friends’ hair on multiple occasions. I also enjoy working with makeup and have often done my friends’ makeup for various events.

Also, I´d say that I get along very well with children, babies, and animals. I love spending my time with them and therefore would totally enjoy babysitting or dogsitting kids and pets!

Lastly, I also really enjoy drawing from time to time and just being creative in general. So if you have any creative projects pending, I could definitely lend you a helping hand!

What else ...

A little fun fact about me: I’m a big Formula 1 fan! It’s something I’m truly passionate about. I love following the races, all the stories and details around them, and talking about it with others. So, if you were to choose me as your workawayer, be prepared to listen to me rant about it all the time ;) !
I also enjoy watching football from time to time (although I don’t follow it as closely as I do F1), especially the European and World Cups.

Some of my favourite games are Uno and Skip-Bo; two card games that I’ve loved since childhood and that are always part of game nights with my family and friends!
I occasionally like to play video games with my family too, for example Mario Kart, which I am unbeatable at ;).

I love trying new dishes and also enjoy cooking from time to time. My two favourite cuisines are definitely Italian and Austrian.
My all-time favourite food is pizza, and I absolutely love the Austrian dish "Kaiserschmarrn".
That said, I’m always happy to have new culinary experiences and open to trying new flavours and dishes!

I’m not the biggest TV watcher, but if I had to choose a favourite movie and TV show, I’d go with James Bond or Harry Potter, and Rick&Morty- two of my all-time favourite comfort movies and series!

Last but not least, I absolutely love traveling (as you can maybe tell haha). I’ve already had the chance to visit countries like Egypt, Croatia, and Cyprus, which I’m very grateful for!
Some of my favourite destinations so far have been Italy, Spain, and Greece; countries I’ve returned to several times already!
But of course, I also have some dream destinations I’d love to visit one day, including Brazil, Miami, Puerto Rico and Portugal.

Getting to know new countries, cultures, and people is something that I truly think fuels my soul, and I always see traveling as a beautiful opportunity to do just that!
