Hi! I'm Josh.

Currently I work as an IT professional in Calgary, Canada. Originally from the UK I moved to Canada with my family as a teenager. Canada is wonderful country with beautiful nature but I have always loved to travel and see new things.

A tech nerd at heart that loves being social and meeting people and having great conversations over food. I can be content at home with a book or watching TV, but two of my favourite things would be having a beer in the sun with friends or taking a walk through the woods listening to nature.

I love music. I play a little bit of guitar and bass, not a pro but I enjoy it! Cooking and baking is also a big hobby of mine that helps me relax, I'm always looking to cook something new and interesting.

I'm still trying to find a place to truly call home and expand my horizons in new places, so I am leaving my job in October to spend time visiting Germany/Austria/NL and hopefully find that home.

My main career pathway is in Networking (Internet communications), but I also know a lot about other tech areas like computer building and general tech troubleshooting.
I consider myself a decent cook! I love to cook and bake and look forward to learning new dishes from other cultures.
I'm happy to take care of children or animals. I have experience from teaching a small sunday school class for a year and have always got on well with kids. I've always lived with dogs/cats around the house.
I spent a few years working as a shift lead on night stock at a large grocery store where I developed strong skills around planning and organization.
I'm a quick learner with a strong work ethic and willing to help on DIY projects in or outside a house!

I have a passion for travel and experiencing new cultures, so I was really excited when I found Workaway which looks like an amazing way to connect with people in new places.
