  • Description

For as long as I can remember, traveling and exploring new places has been a big part of my life. I am so grateful to my parents for making this such a big part of my childhood and for "opening up" the world for me. They made it a natural thing for me to want to explore the world but also my homecountry.

Since covid I haven´t really felt the urge to travel much outside of Sweden (my homecountry) but instead I have appriciated even more the many beautiful places we have here. I have spend the last three years working seasonal jobs at different mountain stations and ski resorts in the north of Sweden. This has been an amazing time where I have learned so much about myself, been able to experience nature and mountains in a whole new way and met such incredible and inspiring people.

Some of these friends I made during this time went on a interail-trip through Europe two summers ago and this really made me thinking about how I wanted to spend more time traveling again. Our primary goal was Italy and I felt very strongly being there that I sometime wanted to spend a longer period of time in the country. As a cook I have always been intriged by medeterranian and mostly italian food culture and my dream is to find a italian nonna to teach me all the secrets to make perfect pizza, pasta and tiramisu. I absolutly have a romanticized dream about Italy and may have watched eat pray love a few times too many but I would love to explore the country and create my own experiences of it.

Ever since highschool I have lived with people in different types of communities and I really don´t see any better way of living than that. To be able to share experiences, food and laughter togheter is what makes me happy. I truly believe that more people would benefit from living closer togheter instead of separated in own appartments where you don´t even say hi to your neighbours.

As a person I would say that I am openminded, caring, have easy to laugh, determined and hardworking when there is something that I want do to.

  • More details about your skills

As mentioned I am a cook and has been working as such for the past four years after I took a year of education. I have since then mostly been working in restaurants at mountainstations working with food typical for these surrondings and often with local-connections. I also spent some time working in school-kitchens which was really joyful since I believe that teaching kids to appreciate food is a very important task. What I love most about cooking is to make other people happy and I love trying out new combinations of food and flavours.

Last year I worked in a small mountainhut with only three people where you really had to do it all, cook, clean, welcome guests, maintence etc. This was a great experience and you felt a great pride of the place and almost like your own since you where the one taking care of it.

I also have some years of experience from working as a substitute teacher and also at summer school for kids newly arrived in sweden who needed to learn the language. I really like teaching and working with kids and this is something that I can see myself do more in the future.

I am also a lifelong competitor in orienteering, on a serious level when I was younger. This as taught me to work hard, love nature and cooperate with others in a team.

Furthermore I would say that I am in posession of great organizing skills and that I am a great problemsolver. I studied a bit of sociology at university, am curious about people in general and loves to work with other people as a team.
