Description
Hey everyone!
My name is Joe, I just finished my bachelors degree and now am taking a break from university to follow my inner wish to dig my hands into some fresh earth, be outside and leave the busy cities behind for a while!
I love being and working outside, reading books and meeting new people around and learning about their life experiences! Nothing binds people together like a fun project and laughing together!
My favourite thing to start the day or to take a small break in between is probably to drink a cup of tea (to the extent that all my geeky science friends have tea for me at their places - oops) and if you're up for that I love sharing this ritual with other people.
In the past I volunteered for a family in Denmark, helping them sand and paint the outside of their wooden house. Apart from that I was fortunate to live in Australia and Taiwan for three months and two weeks respectively as a part of student exchanges. Both times I learned a lot both about myself and the way of life around me and I'm hoping I can continue doing so :D

More details about your skills
In the last few years at university I did a lot of voluntary work but mostly project organisation, such as organising readings, workshops on typically queer topics and my biggest project so far being a debating tournament with ~ 80 people.
If I could support you with any of these or something smaller such as a games night at your hostel/place or you have other creative ideas I'd love to join the planning and organisation!
When it comes to practical work, it's a little more limited to gardening, weeding etc. but I have a lot practice building up flat pack furniture and know my basics on drilling and screwing wood together (I did a six week internship where we worked with metal and while Im far from an expert, I did learn the basics when it comes to welding, drilling, thread cutting etc. in metal as well).
I'd love to learn and get more practice with actual building projects out of wood but sadly never had the building space in my adult life.
On my first volunteering trip though, I gained a lot of practice sanding and painting a wooden house and I have painted my kitchen with my room mate before!
Otherwise my hopefully best quality is that Im eager to learn and I think I can pick up new skills quite alright and am not scared to get dirty in the meantime! If you are open to passing some knowledge along I would love to learn from you and exchange what I have gathered so far!
Also I have moved out from home five and a half years ago and know how to cook and clean both for myself and for others - if that's something you are up to, I would love to learn and maybe exchange recipes, see what favourite dishes you have!
