Description
Hi, this is Janus, and thanks for viewing my profile!
I'm a full-time digital nomad working remotely and trying to grow my own business gradually in the meanwhile. Outside of work, I'm a baseball fan, a chess player, and more importantly, a outdoor enthusiast who loves nature, animals, and getting outdoors.
I have experienced a variety of different cultures. I'm half Korean and half Chinese, born in Chicago, spent majority of my childhood and primary education in Korea with frequent visits to China, back to States for high school and college, had 2 semester exchanges in France and Mexico City and lived in Canada for a year. All of that has made me adaptable, curious about how people live differently, and comfortable dropping into new environments.
Currently, I'm traveling with my ~2-year-old Shiba Inu boy, Cumin. I got him from Canada and since then, he comes along with me everywhere and he is of course microchipped and vaccinated.
Skills I got:
- Taking care of animals: dogs, layer and meat chickens, turkeys, rabbits, barn cats, and cows. Feed, clean up, take care and pet if they like it.
- Incubating eggs
- Rotating pastures
- Gardening and plant care across different climates (both Oregon and New Mexico)
- Setting up electric fence
- Landscaping
- Felling trees
- Working with cars, I got my own hand and power tools
- Housekeeping/laundry
- Anything with computers, I got a degree in this field
I've been part of the Workaway community for 2 years, though I've only stayed with 4 hosts so far. I tend to prefer depth over quantity. Because my work is fully remote, I'm not tied to a strict schedule; I'm looking for placements of at least 1 month, ideally longer, where I can really settle in, get to know the place and the routines, and become a useful, reliable pair of hands rather than just an extra set for a week or two.
I'm easy to host, low-maintenance, and happiest when there's real work to do and a good rhythm to the day. Looking forward to hearing from you! -
