Description
Hi! I’m Isabella—though everyone calls me Isa or Izzie. I’ll be coming to Uruguay in January to immerse myself in Spanish, and I couldn’t be more excited. I’m originally from the UK and recently completed my Master’s in London. I work freelance, which gives me the freedom to travel and meet new people before I begin my full-time career next September.
Learning Spanish is one of my biggest goals this year. I currently study about four hours a week, but once I arrive in Uruguay, I’ll be dedicating around twenty hours weekly to really dive in.
My background is in childcare and youth work: I volunteer each week with young vulnerable girls, I’ve taught English to children in Italy, and I’ve also worked as a full-time au pair.
A few things that truly make me happy: writing, reading, exploring food, running, and spending time with animals. I love connecting with people, sharing stories, and learning from every experience. I’m curious, open-minded, and always eager to grow.

Languages are one of my driving forces for travelling. When I finished my undergraduate degree, I went to Rome with no Italian experience whatsoever. I was teaching and looking after two Italian children who also had never spoken English. We spent five months teaching each other, and it was one of the best and most fulfilling experiences I've had. I would love to replicate this.

More details about your skills
I recently completed a Master’s in Digital Anthropology, and I also have strong social media and writing skills, thanks in part to my background in creative writing. I’ve spent several years working in childcare and have experience supporting teachers in school settings, so I’m always happy to lend a hand with anything related to children or education.
I’m very active and an early riser, and I enjoy taking on whatever tasks come my way. I strength-train regularly, so I’m comfortable with physical work and heavy lifting if needed. Above all, I’m a fast and enthusiastic learner. If there are new skills you can teach me, I’d be genuinely excited to learn them.
