Description

I'm excited to explore the beautiful outdoors of Canada and connect with locals as well as fellow travellers. I believe the best way to experience a country is to take it slow, go off the beaten path, and truly immerse yourself in its culture. Cultural exchange is very important to me: some of my closest friendships were formed while travelling.

For the past five years, I’ve been working in software development, but I decided to take a sabbatical year to have some extended time for travelling and cultural exchange. I’m aware of the privilege I have, and I’d love to give back by contributing to sustainable, eco-friendly, and community-oriented projects along the way.

I’m tech-savvy and reliable, but I also enjoy hands-on, physical work. I’ve taught at university and would describe myself as empathetic, communicative, and open-minded, so not your stereotypical IT nerd! :)

I’ve done Workaway and farm work before, during a work-and-travel year in Australia after high school. I helped with gardening, kitchen work at a hotel, and household chores for an elderly couple. It ended up being one of the best experiences of my life and now I’m excited to create new memories in Canada!
