Description

I believe that travelling is living more lives. I feel more alive when I go to a new place, or come back where
I had a normal life until 2025, in which I started travelling and living from stay to stay. In May 2026 I've been hired in Gribskov area, so I'm looking for hosts around there. It's a part-time, so I will be able to work 25h/week, just fitting with my calendar.
What I'm doing on Workaway is finding a host that shares my philosophy and wants to build a collaboration that we can repeat through time.

I have good manners, I respect everyone, I give before taking. I believe that peace is built everyday, one help at the time. We need peace and cooperation today and tomorrow. I'm a simple person, outgoing, into art, conversations and adventures.

I have a worker attitude: you give me the tasks and I do them; I also seek to use creative problem solving and use my brain into helping you; I want to see the bigger picture while getting handier and handier. I also have a manager attitude when it's about running a team on things I have experience on.

I take pills for my health, so sometimes I will go to the pharmacy.

My interests in life gravitate around creativity: I study music, I write stories, I'm generally creative and like to jam with people of my kind. I'm also adventurous: I love hitchhiking, exploring places and make new friends.
The instruments I play are: bass, guitar, ukulele, keyboard, drums; I also sing. A one man band, but I have to walk a long road to become a great player and singer.
I love playing games, from board/card games to chess, othello and the like; also videogames; I'm versatile, what matters is to be happy together and grow our mind.

I love children and can easily get along with them. I babysit my cousin's kids smoothly and for hours each time. The few experiences with teenagers have always been positive: my first hosts were amazed of how I ended up jamming with the teenager neighbour that didn't talk to them for years!

I love animals of any kind. I only cook vegan food, I'm vegan, but I don't mind if you're not, I expect us to eat together! If you run a farm, I only ask you to not kill the animals during my stay.

I'm an atheist/pastafarian. I had an excessively rigid education, so now I'm the opposite! Very chill and open. I respect every life experience and belief. I don't mind if you're religious, as long as you respect my pastafarianism. And the fact that I'm bisexual.

I also run a travel blog, so I will ask you if you want to have an interview conversation, and if you let me do some videos to share online. Totally okay if you don't want.

I'm very open to meet you! :)

It's embarassing to be the first after 32 reviews to post a negative review, but being kicked out without notice kinda ruined my plans for the following weeks and made me spend a lot of money.

We have been to Nikolaj's for one month, 21/Jan-23/Feb '25. It was our first workaway. We quit our jobs to start living by travelling. We are grateful we met such people. Always helpful, friendly, calm. Quick answers on whatsapp when you needed some assistance or giving informations. We never had any problem, all things run smoothly. People in … read more Friland are a dream that came true. It is not just volunteering in host's house. It is a whole experience in an alternative society of people committed to pollute as less as possible. Nikolaj and Lajla have taught us things we've never done before, always with kindness, patience and sense of humour. A lot of humour. We have laughed every day when together. We felt the cultural exchange. Not just about skills and tasks, but a philosophy of life. We learnt that it's possible. Just do it and it will get real. If you are looking for a great host, just text them. Their flexibility is amazing. You could work however you wanted. The only thing that mattered about the tasks was to work the agreed hours (and doing it good obviously, but they never pushed on being excellent). The vibe was more like "We appreciate any help". We have happily worked with all our commitment, because building an eco-house is a job with meaning. It is something that improves the world we're in. Not only about building, we have helped in the ice cream shop. Angelina preferred to help on cleaning and cooking and it went good. You can help in many ways. Sometimes we worked more one day, less another day, by our choice. One of us had felt sick for a couple of days, and Nikolaj accounted that time as an actual sickness from work, like a true professional. Even though there isn't any formal contract, your rights are respected. It is not obvious in the world we live in. They didn't ask us to work more on any given day. They truly believe in what they do. We admire their humbleness. It is so important that people trust each other. This is the most important lesson from this experience. Their kids are so lovely. Their cat too. It's so easy to miss this family once you leave. We together have finished the first room of the house. Even though it's not ours, still it feels so a bit, because we built it together. When you're in Friland, you can develop a sense of belonging. Especially if you join communitt activities.
The most important thing is that we felt both safe and free.
All the spots in Friland are taken, so you may only come back as a guest, or a volunteer. Which we would really love to do. Hoping next hosts we will have could be like Nikolaj and family. Thank you so much for this wholesome experience.
