  • Description

Hey there! I'm Henri, a 18 year old guy from Rossland, British Columbia, a small mountain town in Canada. I’d describe myself as outgoing, easy to get along with, and someone who always tries to recognize the good in others. I’m a curious person at heart and love trying new things — the way I see it, you’ve only got one life to live, so why not make it full of stories, challenges, and growth?

Growing up in the mountains shaped me in a big way. Nature has always been part of my life — whether it’s hiking, skiing, or just exploring, I love being outside and pushing myself physically and mentally. Taking risks (in a good way!) and living with purpose really matter to me.

Lately, I’ve been coaching youth soccer and absolutely love it. I’ve found a real passion for working with kids and teens, especially in sports and mentoring roles. I enjoy supporting young people, helping them build confidence, and seeing them grow on and off the field. I’m comfortable coaching any age under 18 and always bring high energy and a positive attitude.

Besides that, I enjoy working with my hands, helping build, fix, or grow things, and I’m always excited to learn about different ways of life. I enjoy team settings—whether it’s cooking, doing daily chores, or running group activities—and I’m always willing to pitch in wherever needed.

I’m taking a gap year because I love travelling, volunteering my time, and immersing myself in places that are very different from where I grew up—ideally somewhere off of this continent or another part of the world where I can make a real impact. I’m especially drawn to projects involving community, coaching, farming, teaching, conservation, or working with kids. What I’m really looking for is not just a place to stay, but a place to connect—with people, with the land, and with a different way of life.

You can expect a positive, respectful, and hard-working volunteer who adapts quickly, listens well, takes initiative, and brings both calm and energy to a team. I can’t wait to learn from you, share what I know, and help out in any way I can. Thanks for reading—hope to cross paths soon!
