Description
Hello! My name is Grace and I am 23 years old living in Northern England. I currently work at the children’s hospital in the city, teaching the many young long-term patients who are receiving treatment. I mainly work alongside the SEN teacher at the school- providing education to children who have additional needs or suffered from a brain injury.
I completed a degree in Psychology around 18 months ago now and throughout this time volunteered at a homeless shelter, a primary school and a healthcare centre. I have decided to take time out from work to travel in 2026. As I am half Sri Lankan (although only visited once before), I am very keen to explore the country more, experience its culture, visit family and hopefully help communities using the expertise that I have. I am very passionate in my work and want to help those who are less fortunate then I am. I feel very lucky to be able to take time out and want to use it for good. I would love to travel to Nepal and India as well as Sri Lanka next year!
Aside from the work I do, I am extremely active- particularly running, hiking and swimming. I feel happiest when I am outside in nature! I would describe myself as a very easy-going, chatty and positive person. I love to meet new people but feel very content having time alone. I am very excited to have another adventure and make lots of memories!
