Description
Kia ora! My name is Grace, I’m 24 years old and come from New Zealand. I would describe myself as grounded, easy-going and curious. I’m open to new experiences and eager to learn from others.
This year I'm taking some time to travel and work (remotely) around Central and South America. I'm keen to experience new cultures, explore nature (I plan to do lots of hiking!), and meet new people. Some of my interests include cooking, dancing, hiking, swimming, going to the beach. I'm learning Spanish, my goal is to become conversationally confident.
I'm interested in teaching/knowledge sharing with various age groups - children to elderly and everything in between. I'd love to practice teaching English.
I'm interested in exploring ways of living that are mutually beneficial for people and the environment. I’d like to learn more about slow food, gardening, building, indigenous knowledge/practices, and self-sufficient living.
But above all I just want to learn - about anything and everything. I'm keen to step outside my comfort zone, try new things, and challenge myself.

I spent time WWOOFing in Europe and have experience with general gardening, landscaping and maintenance - weeding, building layered garden beds, pruning trees, and propagating. Renovation work such as tiling. Experience supporting the day to day running of an agri-tourism business with a small hotel and restaurant onsite - cooking and waitressing in the restaurant, cleaning and preparing hotel rooms for new guests. Experience on a vineyard - bottling and labelling wine by hand, vineyard maintenance - training and tying vines.
My background is marketing and design. I have a bachelors degree majoring in Marketing and Design for Social Innovation. In the workplace I've practiced both strategic and digital marketing, communications, co-design, design thinking, and community engagement.
