Hello!

I just watched that video i made^ a year ago and I am laughing at how different I was even only a year ago haha

I'm Fran, a 22 year old recent graduate from the University of Illinois, and have a passion for finding all the magical high energy places around the world:)

I started traveling young with my parents, and then took the reigns on my first solo trip to study abroad in Pamplona, Spain (2 years ago). After, that I was hooked. You realize the world isn't so scary, and you can explore it on your own. Most of the time, friends don't commit to international travel, and I didn't want someone else's fear to affect how I live.

When I got home from abroad, I went to Germany 2 months later to visit friends I met abroad. And then I spent the summer in Costa Rica at a Surf camp that I'm convinced was an alternate reality. The freedom, love, and appreciation for life flowing through 30 strangers that just met was unexplainable. Sleeping among the monkeys, with little wifi, fresh food, and genuine people in love with life made it feel like the most magical place on earth. 30 strangers from all around the world became my best friends, and that's when I realized that having community is the most important thing of all (have some youtube vids on this workaway if you search my name Francisca Caviedes)

Now all I want to do is explore. I'm hoping to launch a successful e-commerce business that will help me create the life of my dreams, and not be tied back by the 9-5. My day to day involves yoga, mediation, self growth reads, self realization, and the practice of letting go/surrender. My #1 criteria for my travels is if there is a sense of community at the place I want to attend. I love work aways that have 5+ volunteers, and where I can learn anything from e-commerce, permaculture, food forests, sustainability, animals, yoga, the mind, video, photography, dance etc

Im ready to put in the work and be an active helper wherever you need

I also want to grow my spiritual journey and would love to go to meditations, sound healing, yoga, and maybe even a healer

I worked as the social media director here, my month here will be an experience I'll tell my grandkids about some day
things I did:
- met the most beautiful people that are now life long friends
-made a family with EVERYONE there, i still cant wrap my head around how truly everyone was connected
-made friends the second day I got there
-went to… read more the beach, hikes, swam with glowing plankton, ate delicious food
-experienced so much genuine love and care from people that were strangers a week before
-spent my nights with everyone are the bar or on the mango tree ( many times singing)
-did yoga and meditaion
-have deep conversations about life
-saw a million star sky
-went out to bars sometimes
-met a beautiful magic cookie lady that teaches yoga and is enlightened asf, everyone needs to meet her, if you want her number for edibles or just to meet her ( she actually glows) messege me
-got a horrible eye infection (corneal Ulcer) but STILL stayed because THATS how incredible it was. I wanted to put this in to hopefully help other contact wearers avoid what happened to me. Do not get into any kind of water with your contacts in, this was your warning! This is general rule for contact wearers, it increases you chance so much for eye infections, especially when you are in a tropical place with sand and new bacterias, please don't risk it

Where to begin:
I stayed at this camp all of July 2019 which is an incredible time to go by the way because weather is beautiful, only rained like 5 days for a couple hours, but May-August is low in guest and high in volunteers which was incredible. I think there were only max 5 guests while there were 30+ volunteers, but it doesnt matter too much because there is no distinction between the guests and volunteers, we are all one family

First, this magical place in not for everyone, but if you can tolerate a few things, try your hardest because you will live the best month of your life. There are bugs and spiders and a lot of them. We slept in open air dorms with 10-12 people and mosquito nets to protect, sometimes you can score a tent. The showers and bathrooms are all open air, there is not one building with complete walls, you truly live in the jungle for a month. I was prepared for this because I wanted an experience like this, but even so, the first day I arrived I wondered if I made the right decision. This will be you too, but please give it 3 days, and it will be so so worth it. The first 3 days I was scared to sit on the benches, by the 5th day I would mindlessly swat away, and not think twice of it. you can do it too!! trust me, I am from the midwest, our only bugs are bees, flys and mosquitoes

I could keep typing for hours, but i think its not fair to give so much away. The work load was incredible in the way that it took maximum 2 hours a day. You wake up for 7 am yoga if you want, we all eat a family style breakfast at 8, do our jobs from 8:30-10, and then a shuttle picks you up at 10 to head to a hostel near the beach. The you chill and live your best life until 6 when the shuttle comes back to pick us up for 7:30 dinner. It was a vacation with incredible people from all around the world. It was a bunch of simliar people coliving in the jungle and creating a community. Then after family style dinner, we would all hangout whether that meant a game of kings cups at the bar, a meditaion session, or a mary j session. ( If you are trying to quit smoking or drinking, maybe not the place for you hahaha, it is a surf camp)

To warp this up, it was genuinely the best month of my life. The people are what made it so beautiful. It is something about this place in the middle of the jungle that makes everyone so welcoming and open minded. A meditation session and tarot reading on the yoga platform under the full moon was just as common as getting together around the bar. How much "party" is going on really just depends on the people at camp, but I believe that the camp somehow attracts the right people to arrive at the same time. The bar was one of my favorite places to be and hang out with everyone, but if thats not for you, it doesn't have to be. There is truly a place for everyone. And if you are picturing heavy partying that's not it at all. Sometimes we would go out to a club in Tamarindo, but at camp the most youll see is people enjoying beers together. When you're with the right people, every night is the best night.

I feel like I wasnt able to convey how much love I have for this place, because it is so unexplainable. The family I made, we all talk about how no matter how much you explain this place, no one will understand unless you live it. I wish with all my heart I could go back in time, with the people I love, to the place I love. Enjoy your time there as much as you can, because once its gone its gone, if you have any questions please reach out I would love to answer any questions

Go if you want your life to change, stay openminded, and let go of all your expectations going in. Its a surfcamp in the middle of the jungle, you are not walking into an extremely organized setting hahaha
