Description
Hello! We are Sean and Eva. We are a couple living in Victoria, BC on Vancouver Island, and are setting out to explore new parts of BC this spring/summer, planning to spend most of our time on Haida Gwaii! We hope to connect with people and pick up new skills along the way.
Sean is 32 and just finishing his PhD at the University of Victoria studying trance states states via sound, which is part of why we're off to adventure and celebrate after this big accomplishment! He is a dedicated musician, composer, and sound engineer, with a particular love of playing guitar. Sean also loves hiking, astrology, reading, spiritual exploration, going to the beach, and engaging with his community of friends. He is a curious person that loves to deep dive into his interests.
Eva is 26, and also a music lover, singing and playing piano in two musical projects. She enjoys baking and cooking plant forward food, biking, bouldering, being a sun lizard at the beach, and meaningful chats. Her professional background is mostly in wine, whisky, and beer making, though she's been in the midst of pivoting to something new and currently works at a cafe as well as cooking for people in their homes.
We deeply value connecting with people, and enjoy the unique interpersonal exchange that comes with workaway. We look forward to the possibility of engaging with your community and contributing to collective goals. We are conscious, curious and respectful people, and have lots of experience with communal living both in our wonderful artsy communal homes in canada as well as past workaway experiences. We have dreams of one day living on a sustainable communal property of some kind, and would love to learn as much as we can about others journeys in similar goals.
Would particularly love to work with folks who can share knowledge in building, food growing, sustainable living, and musical pursuits!
We are both undoubtedly at our happiest when we are in a creative flow, and are hoping to nurture this part of ourselves during these travels (we play in a musical duo together!). We hope to be able to help you with your projects, immerse in your community during our shared time, and hopefully exchange ideas and skills. We are looking for workaways from the beginning of May until the end of August.

More details about your skills
Eva loves to cook and bake vegetarian and vegan food, and would love to offer this at a potential workaway! She has a mix of skills from working in the wine, whisky, and beer industry including forklift/other machinery operation, fermentation and industrial beverage production knowledge, great custom service, and helping to put on events. She loves to sing and play piano, and also has experience with light building projects from past workaway experiences at an animal sanctuary and other eco-projects.
Sean is audio engineer, arranger, composer, and music teacher specializing in classical guitar and percussion. He is also a neuroscientist with a focus on sound meditation with traditional sound healing modalities and biofeedback systems. Sean has many past experiences as an Eagle Scout with building and community projects. He is deeply fascinated by I Ching and astrology, and often gives readings to friends.
We both enjoy physical work and getting dirty, especially when it's for a meaningful project that feels ecologically conscious and beneficial to community.
