Description
Hello, I’m Enya, I’m 19 and currently living and travelling across Japan. So far, it has been fanstastix experiencefor a few months to become even more independent and leave my comfort zone. I am a very curious and interested person who wants to see the world and live new experiences before starting to study.
I love meeting new people and am an outgoing, friendly, open-minded person. Further, I hope to build meaningful and lasting contacts. When getting to know new people, it’s important to me not to be prejudiced but rather open and welcoming.
In Japan, I would like to use my skills especially in childcare, tutoring, elderly companionship and gardening to help but of course I look forward to learning new things as well. To me, learning from people rather than learning from school books is very important. Especially cooking, DIY, gardening and charity work are topics I‘d like to learn about even more.
I‘m used to travelling and engaging in different cultures from school exchange programs to Finland and France and incredibly thankful for those experiences. I have worked in a restaurant, a vegetable farm and currently still work in a sports Programm for children, as a tutor, babysitter and I organise our after school newspaper club. During my holidays I‘ve also taken a voluntary internship at our local newspaper and enjoyed getting to know not only a deeper insight into journalistic writing but also meeting people with different jobs, problems, cultures and publishing what‘s important to them.
Working, teaching and playing with children is something I love to do, as they are so creative, honest, funny and teach us so much and I can simply immerse myself in the creativity.
I am interested in reading (any kind of literature, poetry or articles), music, art, nature, hiking, sports (basketball, swimming, running, cross-country skiing…), baking, cooking, politics, languages, charity work, medicine, biology…
I am hard-working and reliable and try to learn from my mistakes. Whatever the task, I try to give my best and I’m usually also a fast learner. I value honesty, politeness and taking responsibility for my own actions and also believe you should never lose the ability to laugh, relax and look for experiences to remember. -

Languages
Languages spoken
German: Fluent
English: Fluent
French: IntermediateMore details about my language interests
While in Japan, I hope to learn the language by speaking, listening and trying. I am of course aware that being able to speak fluently takes many years, but still I would be grateful for any help to improve my Japanese. Even though I live in Germany I was brought up bilingual (German and English), so I‘d be happy to teach and speak both languages with anyone interested in them. In school, I studied French for some years and had the chance of practicing during a 10-day exchange. I can therefore teach the basics and would be more than happy to learn more from a native speaker. -

More details about your skills
I really enjoy being around children: I have been regularly babysitting a now 4 year old girl since she was two and I also spend as much time as possible with my two niece and my nephew (they are aged 5 months to 5years)
Once a week I do sports with children (primary school age), and can therefore also work with slightly larger groups of children, motivate them, play games and integrate everyone as well as calming them down.
tutoring: I have been giving tutor lessons in English for the past year now to year 9 and year 10 students
service: for some time I worked at a restaurant at the weekends and enjoyed being cheerful and polite around the guests when bringing their food or taking their orders
gardening: I have some skills at gardening as I worked on a small vegetable farm in my home town. I only completed minor tasks independently though, many bigger tasks where accompanied by one of the farmers -
