Description
Hello! I am Elizabeth and I am very passionate about nature and taking care of the earth.
For a period of time I had a plot at a community garden and also grew a couple vegetables on my balcony. So, currently I really want to engage with communities and projects that focus on agriculture, ecotourism, farming and learn skills I can apply as I want to build a “village,” too.
Among other passions of mine are culture, art and community building. I thrive in connecting with people, sharing experiences, ideas, solutions, etc.
My main career, during the last nearly 30 years, has been centered on social justice around issues such as the environment, housing, transportation, language rights, food justice, nutrition, workers' rights, healthcare and access to higher education. This helped expand my experience in working with various communities in diverse settings.
I also love languages and learning them. I am an interpreter and translator and among other skills, I can share that I have run workshops engaging people around various topics, I have created materials and used popular education as a method, etc.
All the volunteer work I have done has been in my community (neighborhood, city, county, state, primarily, as well as at schools, church and other spiritual and social justice entities).
I pay attention to detail, I am organized and I am eager to expand my learning, meet people, visit new places and connect.
A friend did Workaway last year and she had a fabulous time and she insisted I do it as well. So, here I am!

I love languages and I am fluent in English and Spanish and I am a longtime interpreter and translator as well as an instructor. I can create sessions for those interested in learning or exchanging language learning.

I am excellent at communication, dedicated and like supporting causes that matter.
Organization is important to me and I pay attention to details in order to come up with solutions.
In the past I have done some growing of vegetables at a very very small scale and I am so eager to learn more. Currently I started a project and have been experimenting with pickling vegetables and fruits.
I have facilitated hundreds of workshops, including a walking club and I am bilingual in English/Spanish, with some Italian under my belt, as well.
I love taking pictures and videos and posting online, and I am a self-taught silversmith, if that is needed(?)
Finally, building community and spirituality are very important for me. Among my interests are of course traveling and meeting people from all over the world. I love learning about cultures, and I love being creative. I am interested in the arts, music, writing, language learning and exchange, building solidarity and learning from others with different backgrounds.
I love walking and want to learn about growing food.

Laughing and having fun is also something I treasure.
In the spring of 2023 I walked the Camino Frances and it was a very transformative experience for me. I walked part of the Maltese and a couple stages of the Portuguese. I love walking and hiking and being in nature and helping to preserve it.
