Description
I am a transgender woman (Ace) who escaped the political dystopia of the US. I am a former Roller Derby player, my derby name is Tia Lobo, I need a hip replacement to play again, in the mean time I NSO for various leagues. I currently reside in Berlin with a German residence permit and want to move to Portugal. I am active with the Berlin tech startup scene. I speak regularly about diversity and psychological safety in tech. Psychological Safety is missing from most tech organizations but has been shown by Google in their Project Aristotle to be critical for high performing teams.
Traveling in General:
I wander a lot and like to see the world. I've been in Berlin for almost 1.5 years, I was in London last, Before that, rural Florida and Tampa Bay. A few years ago I visited, Malaga, Spain, Valletta, Malta, Frankfurt am Main, Germany, Gibraltar, Chester, UK, Guadalara, Mexico, and Washington D.C.. plus Bufallo, NY. I feel the need to be on the move again. I am planning a move to Toronto, CA next Summer. My biggest problem is I have too much stuff. I'd like to get it to less than two 23 kg bags but I have too many clothes for that. Every time I move I shed about half my things.
Specific Travel plans:
March 2026: Poznan, Poland
April 2026: Porto, Portugal for Geek Girls Conference on 18.April. I return on 25.april via BA and london.
September 2026: Cambridge, UK. -

More details about your skills
I am "cursed with being handy". I can fix most things from electrical to plumbing to minor appliance repair. I am a computer geek, and can do most things there from programming to installing the OS. For cars, I've done everything from changing the oil to swapping an engine. I am also good with pets, I've had many cats and dogs over the years, and horses, even a goat once. I used to train in competitive agility withy dog. I speak English natively and German at the B1 level, Spanish A2, and I am learning Portuguese.
I have coached youth soccer (football) and successfully raised a daughter to age 31.
I have a driver's license in the USA. In Berlin, I mostly get around by public transportation and bicycle.
Politically, I lean hard left. I stand in solidarity with Palestine, Venezuela, and now Iran.
