Description
Hi! We are Eliana and Damiano, a couple from Italy (25 and 27 years old).
She is a medical doctor and he is a language teacher :)
We are here because we want to see how people actually live: we find it incredibly interesting to get into other people’s lives and share knowledge and experiences. We truly believe that volunteering is one of the best ways to travel, contribute to a community, and have a positive impact!
We are both used to being active and useful.
Eliana has spent the last few years volunteering with NGOs, working on both first-response reception for migrants and fighting food waste by collecting unsold food from markets.
She’s used to the chaos of Italian public hospitals, so she doesn't stress easily!
Damiano is an experienced teacher (Spanish, English, and Italian) who has spent years working as a youth entertainer. He loves kids and knows how to keep them engaged and happy.
He volunteered as coordinator with an environmental NGO that collected plastic and waste from the environment, and organized several activities engaging the local community and sensibilizing it on the impacts of plastic.
We’ve both worked several different jobs to get by—from museum guides and holiday home management to bartending and hospitality. We know how to handle people and we are definitely not the type to sit around waiting to be told what to do: if something needs fixing, cleaning, cooking, or organizing, we just do it.
When we are not working, we love observing the world around us. We both do street and travel photography and write (novels, notes, thoughts and poetry)! We both read a lot and love playing chess. We are big fans of outdoor sports: trekking, running, and snorkeling are our go-tos. Eliana has also recently fallen in love with pole dance, while Damiano enjoys yoga and football.
We are looking for a place where we can be useful, learn something new, and have some real conversations to get to know our respective cultures. We offer a mix of medical reliability, teaching skills, hospitality experience, and a lot of energy. We don't need much—just a project with some soul and the possibility to have an impact :)
