Hello! We’re Dorothee and Alberto, a couple from Germany and Spain, exploring Central America with our dog, Rocky, in our self-converted camper van.
We began our journey a year ago in Canada, and our love for travel, especially cultural exchange, has only grown. We like stepping out of our comfort zones, learning new things, and embracing new experiences while connecting with nature. We also enjoy sports and spending time with animals. Through Workaway, we want to make our travels more meaningful by contributing positively, helping out, and building connections with local communities.

Alberto is a mechanical engineer with a strong background in building and designing. He has broad technical expertise and runs his own company specializing in off-grid electrical systems. His extensive experience makes him skilled at handling hands-on projects and technical challenges.
Dorothee has a professional background in Sales and Marketing and also worked in tourism. She loves cooking and learning about local cuisines while travelling. Doro is an enthusiastic photographer and loves documenting our travels on social media.
We both enjoy building things and being creative. We're skilled in crafts and gained a lot of experience & knowledge converting our Sprinter van from scratch. We love nature and would love to learn more about farm life, gardening and living sustainably. Having grown up in the countryside, we love the outdoors and hands-on work.

We love the outdoors and sports, especially mountain biking, surfing, climbing, kayaking, snorkeling, diving, hiking and Yoga. Currently we´re traveling through Central America in our self-converted camper van and started in July 2023 in Canada. We enjoy camping and have extensive experience in building projects especially due to our self build camper. Alberto is an engineer and an expert in electronics, running his own company that specializes in off-grid electrical systems. Dorothee loves photography and previously worked in Sales & Marketing. We also enjoy playing board games like Settlers of Catan and Alberto loves chess.
