Hi, I'm David! I'm 32 years old and I'm taking some time off after years of working as a software engineer. I went on my first solo trip in a while last year to Mexico, and loved exploring the culture and meeting the people. And I really loved the food. This year I want to travel more, and I found Workaway. I want to discover new places and new parts of myself, I think it's important to put ourselves out there. The world is a big place and I'm lucky to have the opportunity to explore it. I'm creative and I love being in company and getting to know other cultures.

I value authentic connections and good company, whether it's a night out on the town or an early morning hike. I enjoy sharing stories and learning about other people's motivations. I do also enjoy time alone these days as well; sometimes I do need time to decompress or reflect, or get stuff done. I find that sometimes the best company is yourself. When I'm alone is usually when I am my most creative.

I come from a math and science background, and I have a bachelor's degree in math. After school, I worked as a software engineer. So, if you need help with your website or anything related to that, I can help you!

I've noticed a lot of Workaway hosts are families with children; I have experience being both a camp counselor and a small classroom teacher to kids. The camp counselor job was a summer camp job, where I would coordinate sports activities for the kids. The kids I counseled were from the 1st to 5th grade (around 6-10 years old). I also interacted a bit with the kindergarteners at times. When I taught in a classroom, I taught kids in high school math and writing. This was at a prep school, where I was helping kids prepare for college admission exams. So, I have experience with kids! In total, around 1 year of experience teaching them.

Other things I have experience in include video editing (I create content on social media), as well as organizing events. I manage communications and expectations well when an event needs planning. Please feel free to ask me more about anything I've mentioned above!

Some of my other interests include staying active in general, but I love playing basketball, swimming, and lifting weights. I also love to sing! Although I can't promise I'll always be on pitch.

I also would love to act, if you need people to help you in your creative productions! I've taken acting classes in New York before (I'm from New York).
