Hola y mucho gusto!
I am a 41 year old seasoned traveller from Toronto, Canada looking to have his first Workaway experiences and contribute in a meaningful and positive way to local communities throughout South America during this current trip. I would describe myself as an open minded and independent thinker and (of course!) a hard worker who rarely backs down from a new challenge. In my life back home I have almost 20 years experience working in hospitality, mainly restaurants and bars, and know how to succeed with speed under pressure, and do it all with a smile on my face :)
In addition to that, I have some non-professional experience with photography and videography, and can navigate programs like Capture One, Lightroom and Final Cut Pro to create photo and video content. I am also passionate about nature conservation and the environment, and in Canada I volunteer with a small organization dedicated to creating and maintaining hiking trails and campsites for canoe camping in the wilderness areas near where I live.

I'm very much interested in being in an environment where I can immerse myself and improve my Spanish. Currently intermediate but looking to improve! I'm also a native English speaker with a degree in literature and while not certified, have done courses in teaching English as a foreign language (TEFL) and would be happy to give lessons in an informal capacity.

Many years experience working in hospitality / tourism throughout Canada and am a skilled bartender and server. I have an interest in photography and videography and have shot different events around my home city. I'm in good physical shape and am very comfortable outdoors, and do volunteering with a wilderness protection organization where we maintain trails and camp in remote areas under primitive conditions. I have strong communication and people skills. I enjoy cooking. I can drive.
