More details about your skills
Hello, my name is Elisa, and I recently graduated from the University of California, Santa Cruz with a degree in Environmental Studies and Economics. With my degree, I gained a wide array of skills and continue to grow the ones I already have. I am confident in my ability to lead, collaborate with others, and follow direction effectively. I was part of a conservation team that worked on restoring an old Brussels sprouts farm to its natural habitat by planting over 2,000 native species and maintaining it by removing invasive ones. I also had to help my dad out doing tons of yard work, which included weeding, driving a Bobcat skid-steer loader, and digging trenches— I have no problem doing manual labor. I also volunteered at my local farmer's market in which I was able to develop a relationship with the local farmers and businesses. Through them, I understood the importance of organic farming. Additionally, I've worked for Trader Joe's (grocery store) for seven years, and this has taught me how to work better with a team and be personable with the general public.
Hello! My name is Grace. I also have a degree in Environmental Science, as well in Geography with an emphasis in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) - simply put, I love maps! My background includes conducting research and lab work on terrestrial and marine ecosystems, including research on Australias own coral reefs! My lab and field work skills include identifying invasive species, tracking environmental changes (such as pH and nutrient levels), and implementing thoughtful solutions to promote sustainable and regenerative insight and practices. I also have experience working with animals, especially land and sea birds, having worked for a wildlife rehabilitation center. I am a crafty problem-solver and enjoy DIY engineering projects; I have some experience with wood work and also landscape maintenance from my time doing conservation field work.

What else ...
We love being outdoors, being out in the sun is what we live for! We also love meeting new people as we find this helps us expand our worldview. We enjoy cooking, going to the beach, and hanging out with friends. We are always looking to grow as individuals, and we look forward to traveling around Australia for the upcoming year.
