I'm headed to Australia for a while and then to Sri Lanka for a 12 day tour starting March 3. After the tour is done, I'd like to teach English for a while.

Description

I enjoy meeting new people and having new experiences. I'm pretty open to lots of different experiences.

I'm retired now and just travel the world. I enjoy learning about other cultures, meeting new people, and spending time in nature. I like volunteering because it's a great way to immerse myself in the culture as a way that's not possible as a tourist.

I also really enjoy teaching. Before I retired, I taught people to use software systems for the US government. I traveled the world and got the travel bug. Now, traveling is my life until I decide I need to settle down somewhere.

My goal is to find an opportunity to work with members of the local community as a way of getting to know their culture. I also love animals, nature, travel, and language exchanges. Over the years, I've done a lot of volunteering, most recently as an English teacher - both in person and online. In 2023/24 I spent a year in Guatemala volunteering at an association where I taught English and helped with their agricultural projects. I have a CELTA and certification in the Color Vowel Approach for teaching pronunciation.

I used to work as a technical trainer, teaching end users how to use software systems. I have experience and training as an English teacher. I have a CELTA and am certified in the Color Vowel System for teaching pronunciation. I'm adaptable and willing to learn new skills. I like working with people and I'm an animal lover.
