❄️ WINTER SEASON 2026/27 — ITALIAN ALPS & MOUNTAIN HOSPITALITY 🏔️

Hi hosts and Workawayers! We’re Virginia & Roberto, an Argentinian couple currently living and working in Italy.
After two years of hands-on hospitality and Workaway experiences across Thailand and Italy, we’re now looking for our next adventure for the 2026/27 winter season.
Our main interest is mountain hospitality: hotels, B&Bs, ski resorts, restaurants, rifugi, hostels and tourism-related projects where we can become part of a team for a longer period.
We’re especially interested in opportunities from November/December 2026 through February/March 2027, and for the right project we’d be very happy to commit to the full winter season.


🇮🇹 WHERE WE ARE NOW — NORTHERN SARDINIA 🐠🏖️

We’re currently spending the summer season helping with the daily operation of a small B&B in northern Sardinia.
Our main responsibilities include breakfast preparation and service, housekeeping, preparing rooms for arrivals, changing linen and towels, keeping common areas organised and helping create a warm and welcoming experience for guests.
We both have HACCP certification and we’re currently adding new hospitality skills and studying basic German for hospitality in preparation for the winter season.


🇮🇹 OUR PREVIOUS SEASON — TUSCANY 🍷🍇

From April to October 2025 we worked full-time in a paid position at Locanda di Poggio al Sole, a country hotel and restaurant in Chianti.
Working across both restaurant and accommodation operations gave us hands-on experience with restaurant service, food preparation, POS and payments, phone reservations, guest communication, suppliers, check-in/check-out and general property operations.
Those seven months were an important step for us: they turned hospitality from something we had experienced through travel and volunteering into a professional environment where we learned to take responsibility, anticipate what needed to be done and work together under the pressure of a full season.


OUR STORY - A LITTLE MORE ABOUT US

Before working professionally in hospitality in Italy, Workaway gave us the opportunity to learn by doing in very different environments.
During 2024 and early 2025 we spent several months travelling through Thailand, helping at bungalows and restaurants, tourist accommodation, animal rescue projects and local properties in Koh Phayam, Hua Hin, Koh Chang and Koh Samui.
Those experiences taught us something we still value today: being adaptable, noticing what needs to be done, working with people from very different backgrounds and being comfortable switching between guest-facing tasks and practical work behind the scenes.

Virginia has a strong background in guest-facing roles. She attended a Spanish/English bilingual school, worked for eight years as a bilingual receptionist at a doctor’s office and later at the front desk of a massage centre in Spain. She also studied Veterinary Medicine and Psychology and absolutely loves animals. Music is another big part of her life: she sings and plays guitar and piano.

Roberto has a degree in Advertising and spent many years working in communication, technology and entrepreneurship. He’s comfortable with guests, organisation, problem-solving, digital tools and finding practical ways to improve how things work. He has also lived in Mexico and Brazil, where he had his first hostel/hospitality experience in Jericoacoara.
We are both practical, curious and easygoing people. We enjoy nature, animals, music, sports, good food, meeting people from different cultures and learning new things.

As a couple, we’re very used to working together while also being completely comfortable taking on different roles and responsibilities.


WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR — WINTER 2026/27 ❄️

Our priority for the upcoming winter is to join a hospitality or tourism project in the mountains where we can contribute for a longer period and genuinely become part of the team.
We’re particularly interested in:
🏨 Hospitality & Guest Experience
Reception, guest relations, reservations, check-in/check-out, breakfast service and general accommodation operations.
🍽️ Restaurant, Bar & F&B
Restaurant service, breakfast, basic food preparation, POS/payments and bar/café support. We’re currently expanding our skills in this area.
🧹 Housekeeping & Property Operations
Room preparation, cleaning, linen, common areas and the many small daily tasks that keep a property running smoothly.
🐾 Animals & Nature
We have extensive hands-on experience with dogs, cats and other animals and are always happy when animals are part of the project.
💻 Digital & Business Support
When useful, we can also contribute with communication, photography, digital tools, organisation and ideas for improving the guest/customer experience.
🔨 Practical Work

We’re not professional builders or tradespeople, but we’re hands-on, happy to learn and comfortable helping with gardening, painting, basic maintenance and general property tasks.

We have our own car, we’re already based in Italy and we’re particularly interested in longer-term and paid seasonal opportunities, although we’re always open to exceptional Workaway projects where there’s a great mutual fit.
