Description

Hi! I am 23 year old tourism & event management student from Finland. I am currently doing my internship in Washington D.C. I will finish my internship in the mid August and after that I want to explore California, before I fly to Malta to do my exchange studies.

I have worked in a goldmine and done 16 hour days as an onion picker and bus driver in Australia. I have been saving stray dogs and cats in Greece and volunteering in B&B in Ireland. I have been working a lot with events and been responsible for many different tasks for example recruiting and training my own team. I have worked as a waitress for quite long as well.

I enjoy exploring the world, learning new things and meeting people. I have been living in several places but originally I am from a farm from a countryside of Finland and from a young age used to do various farmyard tasks.

I am open-minded and social and I adapt easily to new places and people. I would love to work with animals, eventhough I am into other types of charity work as well. My dream would be to have a chance to learn surfing in California!

I stayed here for five weeks and enjoyed my time there! Patricia and Gerry were very welcoming and caring hosts. They made all of us volunteers feel like home and they wanted us to enjoy our time there. I came without any experience with animals and I learned a lot! There is lot of work and it's not always easy, but if you love animals this is really work that matters. I found the work very meaningful and important and I am grateful for the experience! Also the island itself is like a paradise.
