  • Description

    Hey there! I'm Adam 👋

I'm from Slovakia, but these days I call the UK home. I work as a UX researcher in London, digging into how to create a culture of great meetings through engagement and inclusion.

I'm on Workaway because my job allows me a couple of weeks to volunteer, and I can't think of a better way to spend that time than mixing travel with helping out. I love meeting new people, getting my hands dirty in a garden, caring for animals, or just doing something meaningful with a team of good folks.

Simple things like a home-cooked meal with others, a well-done job, or a hearty chat at the end of the day are what I'm after. I really care about making real connections.

I'm curious by nature and I'm always ready to jump in and learn something new or pitch in wherever there's a need. I'm looking forward to the chance to team up with hosts and other Workawayers to not just share some work, but also some fun times and stories.

Looking forward to the adventures that lie ahead!

  • More details about your skills

I'm a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, always up for lending a hand with whatever needs doing. At home in Slovakia and now in the UK, I'm known for diving into any task - from household fixes to assembling sheds and caring for a menagerie of pets. I'm your guy if there's something that needs tinkering with.

As a UX researcher at Slido, my day job is all about getting to the heart of people's needs - a skill that translates well into understanding what's needed in a project or a community. Studying international business management gave me a solid foundation for working with diverse groups, and I've honed these skills through various volunteering gigs, from supporting mental health causes to teaching languages and helping international students find their feet.

Cooking is my way of bringing joy and people together. I'm all about trying new dishes, perfecting old favorites.

When it comes to the outdoors, I've got a green thumb for gardening. I've spent many satisfying hours mowing the lawn, setting up fences, and getting stuck into some bush-clearing. My experience might be modest, but I'm keen, quick to learn, and I've got a good handle on the basics - plus, I'm always looking to expand my skill set.

In a nutshell, I'm here to share my skills, pick up some new ones, and hopefully cook up a storm along the way. Let's dig in and get to work!

  • What else ...

For me, a good day is one spent outdoors. Whether it's a swim, a bike ride, a hike, or a session at the gym, staying active is my jam. I also find balance with yoga and meditation - it keeps me grounded and ready for whatever the day throws at me.

I've had my fair share of the spotlight too, spending eight years in drama classes. It was more than just fun; it was a lesson in confidence and teamwork. I'd be stoked to share some of those skills or even learn a few new ones.

And then there's my time with the Red Cross. Teaching first aid to kindergarten kids was not just about giving back, it was about empowering them with life-saving skills. I believe everyone has something valuable to teach and learn, and I bring that mindset wherever I go.

I'm here to share, learn, and get stuff done. Let's see what we can achieve together!
