I'm Yulia, 26 years old. I'm from Ukraine.
I love learning new skills, exploring, and listen to people's stories. I would like to learn more about other cultures and languages.

I love horses and would like to learn more about them even though I already have experience I'm always open to learn more.

I have a master's degree in law. I'm an organised, responsible and adaptable person, but also very creative and curious. I love cooking, hiking, reading, swimming and taking photographs.

I'm on the road 2,5 years already and had many interesting experiences. Building, working with wood, animal care (cows, horses, dogs, cats). I used to have a vegetable garden and grow vegetables. I worked in a hotel and restaurant in the UK. Also I have experience in dog sitting and house sitting.

I love horses and take care of them. I have riding experience.

I'm a resilient, empathetic and flexible person. I like to meet new people from different countries, learn about different cultures. I did volunteering at a refugee center in the UK.

I didn't hesitate much to accept Yulia to the farm, as I had an intuitive feeling that what she says and what she writes is genuine. For the two months she stayed here Yulia truly was consistent and motivated to experience being a part of the farm and it's organic life.

Perhaps this wavelength of understanding is where our deep-rooted horseman-cultures share common ground, as we learn responsibility for our domestic beings we are created to problemsolve with on a daily basis. Question, learn, thrive, and by doing so enjoy life knowing that we have provided from the heart.

There was maybe one day Yulia wasn't with the horses. Otherwise she was connecting with them regularly every day with a massive amount of patience and self-reflection. That is the key element of horsemanship: firstly realising that the horse is a mirror of yourself. This is what she liked working with. In this way she finally was able to smoothly and seamlessly, calmly harness the half year old foal in the last minute for a blood test who was otherwise very shy and possibly the most mistrusting foal I may have ever known (except his mother who had not seen a human being other then me until she was a full one-year old). So she was very much on the task of working with the mother-son connection.
Yulia is still learning about horses, but she is on the right path and honestly, in Hungarian we have a saying "a good priest learns until death".

I also think she finally answered the eternal enigma of "How much wood could a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck could chuck wood?". Hand Yulia a mountain of wood you can't see through the top, side or middle and she will go through it faster than minecraft. There is something iconic in a content Ukrainian woman having a standing rest with a felling axe when she is not listening to audiobooks of Krisnamurti's endeavours while waxing a historical Hungarian millitary saddle saved from the neighbour's attic. It is only excentuated by the obvious fact that she had learned and practiced homesteading, gardening and animal care since childhood topping it off with lawschool.

I enjoyed the cups of steamy sunrise-coffees and I am happy to have found a companion, a friend in not only horses, but bleary-eyed morning humor. May we have more such cups of coffee again!

I had a great time at Nicky's home. The house is very nice and cozy and surrounded by amazing views of the countryside. She has nice friends and lovely dogs. Fabrice was my first host in France. He is very friendly, caring, generous and funny. His place is really beautiful and peaceful which made me want to come back again. He is a good teacher and explains a lot about construction. I definitely gained useful skills and had great experience working with him.
