Hi! I'm Yiwei 👋
I'm originally from China and have been living in the Netherlands for the past 12 years. After years of nonstop studying (degree after degree) and over a decade in the corporate world, I recently made a bold decision — at least for me — to take a one-year career break.

Travel has always been a huge part of my life. I’ve been fortunate to visit most countries in Europe, many across East and Southeast Asia, and the United States — and every trip has deepened my love for cultural diversity and human connection. 🌏💛

Now, I’ve just quit my job to explore the world — and more importantly, to explore myself: my relationship with others, with the universe, and with life beyond the roles I've played so far. 🌍✨

My first stop will be South America from July to August 2025, and I’m so excited about this part of my journey. I’ve always dreamed of experiencing this continent full of rich culture, vibrant nature, soulful music (I’m a big reggaeton fan!), and passionate, kind-hearted people.

What I’m most looking forward to is connecting — with people, with places, and with meaningful experiences. That’s why I’m here: to volunteer, to give back, and to immerse myself in local life in a way that no ordinary travel can offer.

I'm an outgoing, open-minded, and fun-loving person. I genuinely enjoy meeting new people, sharing stories, and creating good vibes wherever I go. Whether it's helping out on an eco-project, supporting a community initiative, or lending a hand in hospitality, I'm happy to contribute to any project that brings joy or does good for the planet.

I’m excited to contribute to meaningful projects with the skills I already have, and I’m equally eager to learn and experience new things along the way. For me, volunteering is not just about helping — it’s about growing, connecting, and exchanging knowledge.

Over the past 10 years, I’ve worked in product management roles at major European tech companies, including Booking.com and Just Eat Takeaway.com. To put it simply: my job was to lead software engineers to build apps that solve real-world problems. I also hold a Master's degree in Marketing Management.

Through my career, I’ve developed strong skills in teamwork, leadership, problem-solving, and adapting quickly to new environments. I’m a fluent English speaker, native in Chinese, and I’ve studied Spanish for around 20 hours in preparation for this trip — so I’d love the chance to practice and improve!

Personally, I’d describe myself as kind, curious, and hard-working. I’m passionate about:

- Eco projects and farm stays 🌱 — I enjoy hands-on tasks and contributing to sustainability.

- Hospitality work 🏡 — such as helping in hotels, hostels, restaurants, or cafés.

- Coffee culture ☕ — I trained at the Espresso Academy in Florence, Italy, and hold the SCA Barista Intermediate Certificate. I'd be thrilled to work as a barista and share my love for coffee with others.

Whether it’s helping on a farm, supporting a café, or simply offering a friendly hand, I’m excited to be part of projects that create good energy and make a positive impact.

I love singing, and my favorite artist is Adele — her voice feels raw and honest, and I’m always deeply moved by how she sings straight from the heart. One of my go-to songs at karaoke is “Rolling in the Deep”, and I think I sing it pretty well!

A personal guiding principle I live by is:
