    Description

    Hello!

*** PLEASE READ EVERYTHING! And note we prefer 2 people with a car, we don't provide meals (but ask for less work) and ask that no meat is cooked in the cabin, and there is no phone reception and limited electricity (but there is a great cafe with wifi 5 mins away!) ***

We're Mike & Amy (and we have a 6yr old boy, Jai) and we've got a beautiful bit of land in Kuaotunu in a valley of native bush... you will have your own private cabin that has 1 double bed, a single bed and a small kitchen etc (with a compost toilet and shower just outside). It's a very basic cabin but is clean and has character!

We live next door in our yurt and small house.

We're 5 minutes from a beautiful beach and Kuaotunu village & Lukes Cafe (the best pizza and local beer)... with a private waterfall and kiwi's nearby... it's paradise!

We're offering free accommodation in return for helping out with gardening and building etc. We might need a bit of babysitting sometimes too but only if you have experience with kids.

This is accommodation only, not meals - we're vegan and we're often out too!

We can host 3 people max, and we prefer couples or guys who are clean and tidy :)

2 hours of help per day or half a day's work then one day off... we're really flexible.

You will need your own transport!

We are off the grid so there is very limited power at the moment, only enough for a few lights, and there's no phone reception or internet. (You can drive 5 mins to the local cafe to get reception and use wifi though) There's also no fridge but we can provide a chilly bin with icepacks! We prefer people to only cook vegetarian food in the cabin.

It's also a couple of minutes walk through the bush from the carpark so you need to carry food etc up.

It's a rustic little cabin and being in the NZ bush we do have insects and rats, possums etc around... but we keep the cabin really clean and we have traps everywhere so it's not usually an issue. You may hear things sometimes at night though so you need to be ok with that (we also hear kiwi calling out at night which is pretty amazing!)

If you have any questions please get in touch!
