Hello! My name is Yidan Wu Lafond, a 23 year old Canadian girl with a dual citizenship from France. Eager to travel the world and integrate with the local communities/families. That is why I am on workaday!
I recently completed my Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and took a gap year to backpack South East Asia, Nepal, India, and NewZealand. For the remainder of the year, I would like to be situated in Europe to get familiar with the lifestyle, gain new skills, and learn a new language. I am fluent in English, French, and Mandarin Chinese but would love to learn Spanish, German, or Italian.
I absolutely love animals and being outdoors! Near the ocean, in a forest, on a farm; as long as I can spend time outside, I am happy. I like to be active through running, swimming, rock climbing, hiking, and cycling. Some of my new sports interests include scuba diving, kitesurfing, and surfing.
While I have a lot of energy and am outgoing, I also like to slow down and take time to meditate, listen to music, go for a walk, make art or crafts, and read books. I think it's important to have a balance of both, high-energy activities and relaxing self-reflective moments.
Overall, I am a keen learner and like to share positive vibes so I get along with people of any age (including children and seniors). I have been told that I'm a very curious person, as I always love to learn and try new things. I'm sure I will adapt very well to any environment or task given to me, as I have a wide range of skills and various experiences.

I am fluent in English, French, and Mandarin Chinese. I am keen to practice languages and learn new ones with my hosts.
I grew up with two little brothers, more than 10 years younger than me. I was regularly responsible for them and did plenty of activities with them. I have also been a lifeguard, summer camp leader, and swimming instructor for 2 years. So, I am familiar with the responsibilities of childcare and like to spend time with them.
I really like to work with my hands. In the past, I have worked as a urban community gardener, a tree planter in the great Canadian forests, and a prosthetics technician. Thus, I know how to use various power tools and I am not afraid to get my hands dirty.
I have customer service experience from working at a large grocery store, and promoting university sport events. You will find that I am a friendly and welcoming person, so I will be a great addition to any team
Finally, I studied Kinesiology (human body and movement) for 4 years so I have plenty of skills in massage, sports injury treatment, and rehabilitation therapy.
