Hi all, I’m Ben. Full of beans and willing to try my hand at almost any activity.

I am from Bristol in the UK , but my girlfriend and I are now travelling around Australia and beyond looking for new opportunities to take on. Before we started travelling, I worked at a children's charity, where my job involved turning scrap materials into play pods that I delivered to schools. Alongside working at play sessions getting kids from different backgrounds involved in creative and safe play. All of this had a focus on ‘loose parts play’, I would be happy to share knowledge on this topic.

I did 3D design at university, where I gained a wide variety of experience working in wood and metal workshops with all manner of machinery. My main focus was furniture design and making, seeing a process through from initial idea to finish article is still something that makes me thrive. My most recent project was converting an old work van into a micro-camper.

I have also got my Level 1 welding qualification and my HGV licence. I am a keen gardener and have helped out at a small community garden dubbed ‘the patch’. We were reclaiming land in the city centre that had been ignored and left to overgrow.

If by all the luck in the world I can find the right match with lovely humans who are making Hempcrete structures, natural swimming pools, adventure playgrounds, eco-campsites or any other lovely space then I’d be over the moon to lend a hand.

I hope that all of these skills mean I have lots to offer if you need help on a project, big or small, or if you just need a handy man!

I would love to find a workaway where I can put my skills to good use and learn more along the way.

Welding level 1 certificate, designed and made own metal furniture at university, all welds still standing the test of time.
Enjoy driving any vehicle, have been a professional delivery driver and also hold a HGV license for articulated lorry driving.
Children’s playwork- Playway Level 1 training, assessing risks and rewards in children’s play, learnt that some benefits out way the risks when it come to imaginative play which can develop a whole range of skills in young people.
