Description
I left my job as an engineer for a brewery over 5 years ago to travel and see the world. I have been lucky enough to be able to go slowly and see countries decently well but something has been missing. I was only learning a little bit about the cultures of the places that I visited and barely meeting locals who weren't tour guides or hostel owners. At this point, I would rather forego some popular tourist destinations to become more fully immersed in local cultures.

I have always loved learning about new cultures and picking up new skills. Given time, I have been fairly successful teaching myself new skills when required also. Recently, I have been using my time abroad to start learning Mandarin Chinese. I still have a long way to go but the progress that I have made so far has been incredibly satisfying.

My computer skills are quite extensive. Aside from proficiency with office applications, I have programming in several languages, worked on databases, built VPNs, etc.

My previous job also required me to implement creative solutions to various types of issues as they arose.

I am absolutely open to learning new skills and love to learn how to work with my hands better.
