Greetings,
I am an avid outdoor enthusiast currently living in the beautiful Bitterroot valley of Montana.
I have spent many years whitewater rafting, skiing, backpacking, and for my most recent endeavors, bicycle touring. I enjoy gardening and growing plants, have many creative hobbies, and I enjoy spending time with my cat, Otis.
I am especially motivated to travel outside of the USA and try new experiences that push my comfort zone. I see Workaway as an opportunity to meet others who wish to share their culture, try new things, and share my skills.Interests

More details about your skills
I have an educational background in recreation management which led to many years teaching skiing and snowboarding in the winter months, then leading whitewater rafting trips as a guide throughout the western US in the summer months.
During the spring and fall shoulder seasons I pursued other endeavors that have filled my life toolbox. I have many years experience working with plants and landscape materials, both working in greenhouses and in the landscaping industry.
For my other creative streak, I spent several years learning and working as a sole proprietor in custom tile installation.
I am undoubtedly a hands-on-worker, have a keen attention to detail, and prefer to be outdoors or creating something new for someone to enjoy.
I now also work for the US Forest Service as a Fire Lookout at a remote station in the wilderness of Idaho. Keeping a historic lookout tower functioning during fire season hones my communication and detection skills as well as practical remodeling skills.Age

What else ...
I am open to trying anything and I am always hoping to gain new skills. I am striving at living in a thoughtful way and exploring alternative ways of living on this planet.

I can honestly say I have never meet a harder worker than Lisa, all of the younger travelers I have met had nothing on her! She comes in ready to give it her all and with a huge range of skills to… read more
